What if Terminator met both Surrogates and Matrix, and proceeded to have babies with I, Robot? You’d get something annoyingly similar to Kyle Kurpinski and Terry D. Johnson’s futuristic comedy guidebook How to Defeat Your Own Clone, which was preemptively acquired by Dimension Films, reports Variety.
“The pic tells the story of a man trying to help humans dominate over clones after a biotech revolution.”
It sounds like this guy will be a few years out, so that’ll give ’em some time to find a way to make this a reinvention of a tired subgenre.
Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Gotham Group’s Eric Robinson will produce. Gotham’s Peter McHugh will exec produce with Dimension’s senior VP of production Matthew Stein and VP of production and creative affairs Matthew Signer overseeing for the company.
