For the second week in a row Martin Scorsese’s psychological thriller Shutter Island took the #1 spot at the box office pulling an estimated $22.2 million during the three days beginning Friday, pushing the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer to $75.1 million. We’d like to welcome Overture Films to the genre family as Breck Eisner’s The Crazies redo took the #3 spot to an impressive $16.5 million, a solid return for a genre flick going up against some serious competition (and the Oscars). You can write your own reviews of both films by clicking either title below. Tell BD readers if they should spend their hard-earned cash on these two genre films.
