Take A Dip In Apocalypse Now With Yet Another Riddick Image

Vin Diesel is going image crazy posting another dirtied up look at Riddick in the R-rated David Twohy-directed sequel to Pitch Black. This one goes heavy on the Apocalypse Now imagery.

It was revealed yesterday that Riddick also sees the return of Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako and introduces to the series previously announced cast member Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV’s Battlestar Galactica) as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (Aliens in America) and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson. Confirmed: Full Cast To Hunt Down The Mythical ‘Riddick’

RiddickYo20212 Confirmed: Full Cast To Hunt Down The Mythical Riddick

While Vin Diesel shared a new look at himself as the title character Riddick in the R-rated David Twohy-directed sequel to Pitch Black, a press release confirms the previous casting scoops reported by Bloody Disgusting months ago.

Riddick also sees the return of Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako and introduces to the series previously announced cast member Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV’s Battlestar Galactica) as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.READ MORE

Vin Diesel Shows Us ‘Riddick’! Again! Neat!

RiddickYo20212 Vin Diesel Shows Us Riddick! Again! Neat!

Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook again for another update on Riddick. Personally, I’m sure you guys would like to see some pics that give us a sense of scope on the project. Not just picture after picture of the character. But I could be wrong.

Per the thesp, “First time I posted about Riddick was back in 2009, Facebook was fresh… They were asking me to come to the headquarters to talk about this new concept of communicating with fans. I was proud to lead that wave, yet all I was doing, was opening up about my passion – film. So this picture of our 2012 production of ‘Riddick, is a cool victory for all of us… it shows that studios can be influenced by your voice.

Katee Sackoff, Jordi Molla and Nolan Funk all star in the second sequel to Pitch Black that’s in production under the command of franchise director David Twohy.

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Vin Diesel Looks Like Riddick in ‘Riddick’

DieselRiddickLand12012 Vin Diesel Looks Like Riddick in Riddick

With Riddick back in production some steady news is starting to emerge from the set. David Twohy is currently directing the Vin Diesel starrer which recently resumed production after taking a two-month hiatus to deal with production cost issues.

Most recently Vin posted a pic of himself in character on his Facebook page, most likely giving the unit publicist a heart attack.

With the Fast And The Furious franchise at a commercial peak, it looks like Diesel is able to get passion projects off the ground. This includes big budget sequels to films that didn’t do that great at the box office to begin with.

We know that Katee Sackhoff plays Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick. We also know that Jordi Malla plays Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick. Nolan Funk‘s role remains a mystery.

Who Is Nolan Funk And Why Is He In ‘Riddick’?

I always forget that Riddick is actually happening. But it is! David Twohy is currently directing the Vin Diesel starrer which recently resumed production after taking a two-month hiatus to deal with production cost issues.

Who is Nolan Funk? Per Variety he’s a fellow who “can be seen next in the Bold Films pic ‘Evidence’ and just wrapped the co-lead role in the ABC Family pilot “Intercept.”

Why is he in Riddick? I have no idea. Neither does Variety it seems. We know that Katee Sackhoff plays Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick. We also know that Jordi Malla plays Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick.

Maybe Funk is another guy tracking down Riddick? Or perhaps he’s an intergalactic anime karaoke star? Because he’s kind of got that Robotech pop star thing going on in the pic below. READ MORE

Katee Sackhoff Confirmed For ‘Riddick’

Back in October Bloody Disgusting exclusively reported that Katee Sackhoff (White Noise 2: The Light, Growl, The Haunting in Georgia) was in talks to star in Riddick for Universal Pictures and director David Twohy. Deadline confirms this evening that talks continue for her to play the female lead opposite Vin Diesel. The “Battlestar Galactica” alumna will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick (Diesel).

Variety adds that Spanish thesp Jordi Molla – who came close to nabbing the coveted villain role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek 2 – is taking his sinister sneer to another sci-fi franchise, as he’s in negotiations to play the villain opposite Sackhoff in the untitled pic. He would play Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick.

Production on the second “Pitch Black” sequel recently resumed after a two-month hiatus while the producers finalized financing. READ MORE

People Paid, ‘Riddick’ Production Resumes Today

People Paid, Riddick Production Resumes Today

After a brief set back due to financial problems, Riddick is back in production.

It’s reported that the production company scrounged up enough cash to pay off some long overdue bills after coming to a screeching halt last month. It was reported that the guy who owns the Montreal studio where the film is being shot LOCKED OUT the cast and crew after complaining that he hadn’t gotten paid.

Studio owner Michel Trudel claims the production company recently paid up … and he’s willing to allow the flick to pick up where it left off.

Sources connected with the production explain that the studio payment is just one step in the right direction — noting that several members of the crew who had been griping about not receiving paychecks will indeed get their cash in the very near future.

Filming will resume today. Vin Diesel and Karl Urban both star. READ MORE

Apergis would play “Krone”, commander of the dark theocracy. Sackhoff would pay “Dahl”, a Nordic merc tracking Riddick.

Vin Diesel’s One Race Films Not Paying ‘Riddick’ Crew?

Vin Diesels One Race Films Not Paying Riddick Crew?

The scuzziest, most despicable entity known to mankind (IMO), TMZ, reports that production was shut down on Riddick, David Twohy’s second sequel to Pitch Black that once again stars Vin Diesel in the title role.

The tabloid “spoke with Michel Trudel — the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot — who tells us he changed the locks and kicked everyone off the set Wednesday because the production company, One Race Films, has failed to pay up on time.

But Trudel isn’t the only one griping about a paycheck — sources connected to production tell us several members of the crew have not been paid in over 2 weeks … and are very concerned about getting their money.

Trudel tells us he’s confident the situation will be resolved soon … and he’s more than happy to let production resume … as soon as he gets his money.

This story is a bit weird considering I wasn’t aware of any actually shooting going down. From what I understand the film was in pre-production with actual photography to begin next month. Diesel is the only locked cast member alongside Karl Urban, unless they’re shooting a buddy comedy with only two cast members. It’s also a bit odd that the person complaining about being paid allegedly contacted TMZ directly. This whole story stinks of shenanigans. More soon, I’m sure. READ MORE

Bloody Disgusting reported a few weeks ago that Karl Urban will reprise his role of “Vaako,” one of Lord Marshal’s (Colm Feore) commanders that’s married to Thandies Newton’s character, “Dame Vaako”. Urban starred in Thowy’s 2004 The Chronicles of Riddick. He will join franchise star Vin Diesel, who plays the title character.

‘Riddick’ Scouting the Far Reaches Of Space For Intergalactic Mercs

I’ve really liked everything I’ve seen and read about Riddick so far, including the script. The threequel has Vin Diesel’s one-man killing machine stranded on a barren planet with monsters and mercenaries fighting for his head. It has connections to both previous films and has a more Pitch Black vibe, character and story-wise. The ending was the only thing that didn’t sit too well with me, but I’m sure it’s gone through a few rewrites since then.

Today, Moviehole got word that casting director Anne McCarthy (Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick, Insidious) has begun scouting for a few supporting roles, including Boss Johns, Santana, the sexy female merc Dahl, and the smug commander Krone. Check past the break for a spoilerific character breakdown.

Vin Diesel Talks New Look for ‘Riddick’

Vin Diesel has been very open about the process of getting Riddick (also known as The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking) off the ground, the third film in the Pitch Black trilogy that reteams him with director David Twohy. The latest tease reveals that Riddick will have three different looks in the forthcoming film. “So the director of Riddick, my partner on COR since the beginning, DT… has a new challenge in store. He wants me to have 3 different body looks for this next chapter,” Diesel stated on Facebook. “There is the DiNorscio type, the Dom type, and the lean Furyan type… but all in the same movie, haha… When it comes to art, we all like a challenge,” he jokes. Diesel played the character “Jackie DiNorscio” in Find Me Guilty, while he’s best known as “Dom” in Fast and the Furious. Check out a fresh piece of concept art inside.
