[Trailer] ‘The Houses October Built 2’ Takes Extreme Haunting to New Levels

What you seek… is seeking you.

The end of 2014’s The Houses October Built was only the beginning for the found footage film’s characters, who are heading back out on the road for this year’s The Houses October Built 2.

RLJ Entertainment is unleashing the sequel on September 22, and the official trailer has arrived today. This one looks to increase the scope and deepen the mythology of the organization known as Blue Skeleton, a group who takes the term “extreme haunting” a bit too seriously… and much further than anyone ever has before.

Bobby Roe once again directed the film, which he co-wrote with Zack Andrews.

“Recovering from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton – a group who take “extreme haunt” to another level – five friends decide they must face their fears in order to move on. Heading back out on the road to visit more haunted house attractions, signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing again and a new terror begins…”

Brandy Schaefer, Zack Andrews, Mikey Roe and Jeff Larson star.

I don’t even think I finished watching the original

So I’ll be skipping this one too

That’s a really great story you just told right there

      • Kyle Ord

        obviously,

I mean you read it and took time out of your day to respond to it

I’ll just chime in here too and say that I was thrilled to find out that you, Kyle Ord, didn’t finish ‘The Houses That October Built.’ This may be the greatest scoop in the history of the internet.

        HA!

The first one was pretty cool, so i may check out the sequel. I love anything Halloween related, especially with haunted houses or theme parks

Some dumbass characters you know! No way in hell I’d be going back out after barely escaping with my life! You?

  • Necro

Kidnapped and buried alive! Then go back out almost immediately and take the same road trip to hell! Brainless from a character perspective, but in the interest of seeing what happens to them I guess I’ll watch.

John is this right to DVD, VOD, or both or what?

    • John Squires

Limited theaters and VOD on September 22.

the first one wasn’t as good as I had hoped, but still an above average found footage film so I may check this one out

Yeah… The first one looked so promising. Until I started watching it. Having said that I’m still going to watch the sequel.

I actually liked the first one quite a bit but have absolutely no sympathy at all for these people if they seek out extreme frights in the second movie after what they went through in the first one. Hard to excuse people in horror movies doing ridiculously stupid things just to create the plot of the movie.

wait…so they didnt die in the first movie, it was all just like a joke? lame.

I feel like they should have at least went a different route with this and not bring back the same characters and story. To me, knowing they survived just takes the disturbing abrupt ending of the original and flushes it down the crapper. To me, a good sequel isn’t a rehash…but adding a new element to the story. This is doing nothing.

I’m still waiting for the sequel to the most excellent CREEP

Sweet, I really liked the first movie, better than most found footage for sure.
The whole allure of the first installment was you never really knew if it was real or just guys pushing them to the ultimate scare. The female lead did report during the movie her greatest fear was being buried alive and that’s how it ends, so your never truly sure if this is just to scare her.
Second one does look a bit more of the same, but hopefully there is a lot more in the story to keep it fresh.
    I’m in.

Is this supposed to be bad on purpose? I don’t get it…

So, if Jeff was killed and Zack was killed…wouldn’t the thing to do be to alert the authorities of this Blue Skeleton group? Especially since we know now that Brandy, Mikey and Bobby survived the first experience. From a story telling point of view it makes more sense for the BS group to be terrorizing another unfortunate cadre of friends loooking for the ultimate terror thrill. Just my thoughts.
