You guys, I don’t think you realize just how much I love this movie. I grew up on the story of Perseus and his perilous journey to save Andromeda. While the ultimate villain in this film is the Kraken, it’s really the serpent-headed she-devil Medusa that always terrified me as a wee young’un. The thought that someone could be turned to stone simply by looking into someone’s eyes just haunted me. Plus, that whole sequence is masterfully crafted.
