This is, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite movies ever. Visually fascinating and stunningly original, I can watch this movie over and over again without problems.
The villain Krank is a bit of a strange one in that I, in a way, pity him. You see, Krank has no ability to dream, which strangely creates an advanced aging process, meaning he is facing his mortality at a rate that we can’t understand. So, he kidnaps children to steal their dreams but, due to their being kidnapped and mistreated, they only have nightmares. All he’s trying to do is find the perfect child that will allow him to have a single night of peaceful dreams.
If you haven’t seen this movie, I cannot recommend it enough. Visually, I think horror fans will absolutely love this film. Plus, it stars Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Dominque Pinon (Alien: Resurrection) and also has music composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet).
