6. Leprechaun: In The Hood
Yeesh. I almost wish I had never watched this one. It is not a good movie, even by Leprechaun standards. While I can appreciate the attempt to take the franchise in a new direction (again…after Part 4 already tried), it just doesn’t work here. The whole thing feels like it was filmed as a made-for-TV movie. None of the characters stand out at all (with the possible exception of Ice-T’s Mack Daddy) and it’s just kind of a chore to get through. To add insult to injury, the film is kind of racist and a little homophobic, and fairly sexist. Although there is a pretty funny cameo by Coolio, if you’re into that.
