3. Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha’ Hood
Trust me, I’m as surprised as you are that this one ranks so highly, but I actually found myself enjoying Back 2 Tha’ Hood a lot more than its predecessor. While still just as racist as In The Hood, it’s at least funny. This is probably the only one in the series that I would qualify as a legitimate comedy. Despite the absence of gore (the kills are not particularly creative either), it’s probably the most well-made film out of the entire series and the characters actually are developed (only slightly, but it’s something). The whole movie has a 90s slasher feel to it (despite coming out in 2003) that I really liked. It’s still a stupid movie that doesn’t make much sense, mind you (do the characters just pay for everything in gold coins when they start spending it? How does the main character know a Leprechaun is after them immediately?), but it’s definitely one of the more entertaining movies in the franchise.
