1. ‘House‘ – 1977 – Dir. Nobuhiko Obayashi
As great as those other four titles are, none comes close to Nobuhiko Obayashi’s House. Even if this release was decent in terms of quality and extras it would likely be my favorite because the movie is absolutely bonkers. Thankfully Criterion comes through once again with a wonderful collection of goodies. The special features here include a fantastic essay from Chuck Stephens, a video appreciation by Ti West and the inclusion of Obayashi’s experimental film Emotion.
