Absentia (2011)
Absentia is a slow-burn horror film and the first full-length feature written and directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus, the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer remake). Surprisingly, the principal photography for the film as funded by Kickstarter before Kickstarter was cool. There is a ton of creepy imagery in Absentia, and while the ending leaves a little to be desired, it’s an effective chiller.
