Pan’s Labyrinth – Ofelia’s Death
There couldn’t have been a more perfect ending for this film. It perfectly combined our hopes that Ofelia would find her kingdom with the knowledge that it simply wasn’t real, no matter how hard we wished it so. Her death was our own tragic realization that such wonderful worlds can’t exist and that we’re left with the remnants of war and destruction. Such is our burden.
