Arachnophobia (1990) – The First Kill
Arachnophobia is a tough movie to watch for adults, much less a child. The film is littered with expertly-staged spider kills (the saddest of which involves an old lady turning off her lamp), but it’s the first scene that is the most memorable, when a photographer gets bitten by the spider while taking a nap in his tent. The shot of his exsanguinated corpse later in the film is one of the most striking (and terrifying) images in the film and not fit for any child to see. I jest, of course, but it’s still gross.
