Gremlins (1984) – Mr. Hanson Bites It
Gremlins is known for being one of the the films to cause the MPAA to create the PG-13 rating in 1984, which is understandable considering all of the macabre violence that happens in the film. The first moment where audiences realized they weren’t in for any ordinary family film about cute little monsters came when the science teacher was killed by a Gremlin after (I assume) getting his hand bitten off. This moment always scared the living daylights out of me as a kid. More so than any other moment in the film.
