The Hole (2012) – The Puppet Jester
Spoiler alert: this won’t be the first Joe Dante film you see on this list. Dante is great at horror comedy, but he really knows how to delve into your inner child’s deepest, darkest fears and scare you silly. No scene in his under-seen 2012 film The Hole exemplifies this more than the scene with the evil jester puppet. It uses minimalist filming techniques to maximum effect, easily making it the most memorable scene in the film.
