Poltergeist (1982) – The Face Peel
More gory than scary, but there are a handful of scenes you could use from Steven Spielberg’s Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist. It’s just incredibly surprising that the face peel made it into a PG-rated movie (I’m not even sure it would qualify for a PG-13 today). The visual itself is one of the more visceral images ever put in a family horror film. It’s not something that left my brain for weeks after seeing the film for the first time.
