The Hole

Joe Dante had been on the outs with Hollywood for a while, but he returned to his roots in 2010 with the family horror film The Hole. It’s not quite the comeback one desires from the director of such classics as Piranha and Gremlins, but it’s a solid effort in the rarely-seen family horror genre (a void being filled by Krampus right now). Just try to watch the clown puppet scene and tell me it doesn’t freak you out.
