Alien in the Basement – Pod
I must just be really naïve, because I really thought that Pod was going to end up being a standard paranoia thriller where the alien/monster didn’t really exist. Boy was I wrong, and the actual reveal of the alien is made all the more disturbing by the horrifying sound the creature makes once it finally makes its appearance. No movie has scared me this year as much as Pod has (though if you haven’t seen it and you’re reading this, the impact will be lost).
