8 of the Most Satisfying Horror Movie Endings!

Most Satisfying Endings

The Hills Have Eyes (Both Versions)

There are plenty of great moments in both Wes Craven’s and Alxeandre Aja’s The Hills Have Eyes. In Craven’s version, that moment undoubtedly comes from Beast’s, the family’s German Shepherd, mauling of Pluto (Michael Berryman), who gets some revenge for the murder of Beauty, the family’s other German Shepherd. The final minutes of the film showcase a family fighting to survive, and boy do they fight.

Aja’s remake certainly amps up the gore, and to wonderful effect. It is a much more brutal film, especially the notorious trailer attack scene. The last 30 minutes are pretty much a non-stop barrage of violence, mainly featuring Doug (Aaron Stanford, Pyro in the X-Men movies) laying waste to all members of the Jupiter family. Special mention should be made of Brenda (Emilie de Ravin) and Bobby (Dan Byrd), who set a trap for Papa Jupiter using their mother’s corpse (much like in the original) and split his head open with an axe. All of those moments are completely earned after having to sit through all of the carnage inflicted on the family earlier in the film.
