Willow Creek
A lot of people seem to despise Bobcat Goldthwait’s bigfoot thriller and I will never understand why. It is a slow burn, with nothing really “happening” until the final 20 minutes (in an absolutely fantastic long shot inside the lead characters’ tent). Up until that point, you spend a lot of time with the characters as the film (get this) establishes its characters and gets you to connect with them on an emotional level before they are thrown to the wolves. It doesn’t really do anything new with the found-footage technique, but it utilizes it extremely well.
