Canadian producers Unstable Ground are hard at work packaging and developing THE ETERNAL, and have some new exciting news. The first cast member has agreed to join lead Adam Wilson in this foray into madness and bloodletting. Highly-talented character actor James Lorinz (from the cult-hits FRANKENHOOKER and STREET TRASH) will play a major role in the film. This film will mark Lorinz’s return to the genre, his first horror-related film since the early 90s. “Lorinz was my first choice for the character, it was tailored for him”, stated director Justin McConnell, “his performance in Frankenhooker is so acclaimed for a reason.” Read on for even more news on this project.Additionally, the FX crews have been lined up for the film. Joining art director/co-producer Kevin Hutchinson (Dawn of the Dead remake, Bottom Feeder) will be Toronto FX-veteran Matthew Dewilde (Pontypool, Stir of Echoes 2, Heartstopper). Geoff Hill (Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead) will be spearheading the pyro and practical FX. World-renowned stunt coordinator Plato Fountidakis (Chronicles of Riddick, Splice, Silent Hill) has also joined the team. Rounding everything out nicely will be an original score by Rob Kleiner (of the well-loved underground band Tub Ring) and Jasan Stepp (Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist, and the band Dog Fashion Disco). More cast and crew details will arrive as they become available.

The short film prequel, ENDING THE ETERNAL, has just been made the official selection of two more film festivals: TORONTO AFTER DARK FILM FESTIVAL and DEAD CHANNELS (San Francisco). More details to follow later.

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Prequel ‘Furiosa’ Rated “R” for “Strong Violence” and “Grisly Images”

Anya Taylor-Joy fights the world in George Miller’s hotly anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that’s coming next month.

Warner Bros.’ Furiosa has been rated “R” this week for…

“Sequences of strong violence, and grisly images.”

Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Charlize Theron made famous in Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Chris Hemsworth co-stars as Warlord Dementus.

Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.

Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road grossed nearly $400 million worldwide at the box office and won SIX Oscars, while also scoring rave reviews nearly across the entire board.

Last we heard, Miller also intends on making sequels centered on Tom Hardy‘s Mad Max.
