Outlast: Whistleblower
Speaking of which, if a first person horror game is what you crave, look no further than Outlast: Whistleblower. The standalone expansion takes the Godfather II approach by being both a prequel and a sequel, offering more gore, jump scares and plenty of answers to the burning questions left by its predecessor along the way.
Whistleblower follows Waylon Park, an employee of the dickish Murkoff Corporation, as he tries to escape Mount Massive Asylum after being caught whistleblowing. Murkoff decides to turn him into a test subject because, as the first game established, they’re basically the worst.
This expansion benefits from much better pacing than the main game, as well as eerie new environments and an unforgettable new baddie you’ll learn to call The Groom.
