Afflicted
More proof that found footage is still very much alive is Afflicted. The flick follows two besties as they embark on a journey to travel the world, documenting their crazy adventures along the way. They’re forced to put their trip on hold when one of them parties a bit too hard, contracting a mysterious disease in the process that gradually transforms him into something inhuman, because scary movies.
Much like Willow Creek, Afflicted doesn’t try too hard to innovate. That’s okay, because while the story unfolds in a mildly predictable fashion, it’s suspenseful, stylish and, perhaps most importantly, it never gets boring.
