Honorable Mention: The Den
Of the three found footage films I’ve included on this list, The Den is arguably the most innovative. All of its content is presented as if it were being displayed on a computer screen. It’s done in a way so it’s never obtrusive or overly-gimmicky, and its lead (Elizabeth, played by Melanie Papalia) acts with a level of intelligence and critical thinking that isn’t often seen in horror movies.
The Den is a solid horror movie that never quite reaches its potential because of some poor pacing and a story that becomes a little too predictable later on. If you can make it past the lulls, this is very much worth checking out.
