Season’s Beatings
Season: 7
Air Date: December 11, 2011
Best Quote: “I have grandchildren! Oh my God I can’t believe it! I thought my only chance was if Steve got raped by a confused lesbian!” – Francine, upon finding out she has a grandchild.
This episode essentially serves as a prequel to the Rapture episode from Season 5, as it shows how the Antichrist came to be. Not that it really matters. Basically, Stan gets excommunicated from Christianity for beating up Roger when he’s dressed up as Jesus and the only way to get let back in is to kill the Antichrist, who just so happens to be Haley’s new adopted son named Nemo (a palindrome for omen). This is probably the most horror-themed episode the show has, borrowing from The Omen, Rosemary’s Baby, and Dracula, among others. It’s way more entertaining if you have seen all of those films (the picture above is probably more funny if you have seen The Omen). There are plenty of Scary Movie-type jokes that raise a few laughs, the below image being one of my favorites. This episode has some pretty great moments and is my second favorite after “For Whom the Sleight Bell Tolls.”
