How often have you watched a movie and the ending completely ruined everything that had come before it? On the flip side, how many times have you thought a movie was just alright, only to be blown away by the ending and ended up falling in love with the film as a whole? The fact of the matter is that endings can be a little bit tricky. We’ve put together a list of horror movie endings that we feel are the most satisfying (read: cathartic). Evil Dead (2013)

Evil Dead is arguably one of the best horror remakes in existence, and the finale is a big part of the reason why. First, it rains blood. Then, Mia (who has just been released from the clutches of demonic possession) is attacked by a monster known as the Abomination (no relation to the Marvel Comics character) who proceeds to push a Jeep on top of Mia’s hand. Next, Mia severs her own hand to free herself and then shoves the chainsaw into the Abomination’s face, resulting in a chainsaw blowjob that ultimately vertically splits the thing’s head in half. It’s a bravura moment for the character and the film.
