7. Nancy Thompson & Heather Langenkamp – A Nightmare on Elm Street & New Nightmare
This one is sort of a cheat, since it’s two characters, but since they’re essentially the same person (in the films, at least) I’ll let it slide. Nancy is an incredibly resourceful final girl that managed to defeat Freddy by using her intelligence in the first film. Heather Langenkamp channeled Nancy’s energy to defeat “Freddy” in New Nightmare and save her son. Either way, Nancy is one of the seminal final girls. Just forget the remake version of her ever happened.
