She ripped her own hand off to survive. I repeat: she ripped her fucking hand off to survive. While Mia was incapacitated by a demon in the basement for most of the movie, she really turned things around in that final act. Closer in line with her role in Showtime’s Shameless than her role in ABC’s cancelled-too-soon sitcom Suburgatory, Jane Levy was the perfect actress to portray Mia, exuding vulnerability with a tough-as-nails attitude.
