Ms. 45 (1981)
Another film that was critically maligned upon its release, Ms. 45 takes a slightly different angle to the rape-revenge sub-genre, as a mute woman (Zoë Lund) goes on an all-male killing spree after she is raped twice on her way home from work. What makes Ms. 45 such a fascinating watch is that it was filmed on such a minimal budget, that director Abel Ferrara filmed much of it on the streets of New York City and inside real apartments and office buildings. It gives the film a much more visceral quality.
