The abundance of foreign-film trailers on this list is no coincidence. The minimalist approach that they must take while still trying to make subtitle-phobic American audiences eager to see them is a tricky thing to pull off but all of the foreign film trailers on this list are able to do it, and none does it better than Goodnight Mommy. The entire trailer is filled with a tense, unsettling atmosphere, and the nursery rhyme sung by the two boys is one of the most troubling pieces of music heard on film in some time. Plus, bugs.
