9. Hitch-Hike (OFDb Filmworks, Region B)
Pasquale Festa Campanile’s Hitch-Hike is a wonderful movie (read my review). It features what is quite possibly Franco Nero’s greatest performance. The film received a couple Blu-ray releases this year I believe, but the one that stood out to me was the German release from OFDb Filmworks. I love this because I’m a sucker for foreign releases. I just love how they look so different from most American releases. The film comes with a few special features, including a nice booklet and a documentary but unless you speak or read German neither of those will be of any use to you. There is a photo gallery though that shows a wide variety of different posters and lobby cards for the film which is pretty cool.
So yeah, most special features on this release are pointless for me, but I just really dig this release. The film looks terrific and it’s a great movie and that’s what matters most.
