Essentially the same plot as its predecessor, the 2007 sequel simply felt better, tighter, and more intelligent. There was greater tension, the torture scenes were more quease-inducing, and the ending was far more shocking, to put it mildly. While I don’t exactly enjoy these films, I’d watch this over the other entries any day of the week.
