Asmodexia
This is another one that I didn’t know anything about going into it. On its surface, Asmodexia looks to be just a standard possession film. It follows a grandfather and his granddaughter as they traverse Barcelona performing exorcisms on various citizens. To say any more would really spoil the film, but know that I have watched an insane amount of possession films that came out this year and it was incredibly surprising to have one that was this refreshing. Aside from one car crash that looks like the effects team of Birdemic designed and some of the usual possession movie tropes, Asmodexia is a very solid film with some creepy imagery and nice twists on the usual things seen in this genre.
