Alfred Packer – Ravenous
Packer was the inspiration for Robert Carlyle’s character in this 1999 cannibalism film (also based on the Donner Party). He and a team of prospectors were trapped in the Colorado mountains during the winter and, upon Packer’s safe return, he confessed to eating several of his team members to survive. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
