Joe Ball – Eaten Alive
Tobe Hoopers not-so-classic film Eaten Alive was inspired by Joe Ball, a real-life serial killer who fed the corpses of his murder victims to alligators. He definitely killed two women but it is believed he could have killed up to 20. Once the police got wise and went to question Ball, he pulled a gun on himself and took his own life. Much of the story is hearsay, but it eventually found its way into American folklore.
