Alexander “Sawney” Bean – The Hills Have Eyes
Much like Joe Ball, Sawney Bean is sometimes believed to have never existed at all. Nevertheless, he was supposedly the head of a clan in Scotland that murdered and cannibalized over 1,000 people. Wes Craven conceived The Hills Have Eyes as a modernization of the legend. While Bean’s clan weren’t disfigured mutants like the one’s in Craven’s film, the cannibalism was something that was directly pulled from the tale.
