5 Games That Will Ruin Your Thanksgiving Appetite

Dead Space 2

From the beginning, you know Dead Space 2 isn’t messing around. Finding a way to raise the bar after the first game set our expectations so astronomically high could not have been easy, but Visceral Games did just that five minutes into the game by giving us an intimate look at a man who’s being transformed into a Necromorph.

What makes this whole situation worse is because Isaac’s bound in a straitjacket, all he can do is watch helplessly as this poor guy endures what looks like an extremely painful transformation into a mindless killing machine. Organs melt, muscles tear, and bones snap and shift so they can be used as crude weapons.

This is one of the more excruciating video game deaths I’ve witnessed by a significant margin, but it’s not the only scene that will have you watching the screen through sweaty fingers. That needle in the eye bit stands out, too.
