5 Horror Games That Would’ve Made Better Movies!

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

GTM_4

Lots of folks were upset about Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and many of the complaints were valid, some annoyed me too. It’s just a shame that such an atmospheric and narratively inventive horror game would be cast aside so easily, just because it didn’t quite live up to the hype.

It has its problems, but let’s be honest. It’s still a fantastic game.

If you don’t share my opinion, I hope you’ll still be able to recognize its potential for movie magic. Amnesia isn’t a trope that I’d normally support the continued overuse of, but I really want to see what a talented FX team can do with those unsettling pig monsters.

The interesting thing about the Amnesia series is that many of the things that made The Dark Descent such an unforgettable horror game would make it less appealing as a movie, while all the streamlining its sequel did make it better suited for the silver screen.

That’s it. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it. I enjoyed typing this up so much, you really have no idea. If you could experience a fraction of the pleasure — and I’ll admit, there was some sexual gratification involved, too — that I’ve gleaned from this list, you’re likely lost in a sort of dream-like haze. Don’t fret, it’s only temporary.
