Under the Skin – The Harvesting
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to use this scene or the ending, but ultimately I think this is probably the more disturbing of the two. The movie itself was gorgeous and haunting, and even though I really liked it I will probably never watch it again. That being said, this harvesting scene was crazy and fairly disturbing to watch. Scarlet Johannson’s alien lures men back to her apartment where they disappear into a pool of black liquid. Once fully submerged, they remain there for an unspecified amount of time as their insides are slowly sucked dry until there is only skin remaining floating in the liquid. It sounds gross but it’s actually very beautiful to watch. Definitely one of the highlights of the film for me.
