Willow Creek 2 – The Tent Scene
I’m surprised that more people didn’t like this movie. It runs at a very brief 77 minutes (including credits) and it’s never boring. I may be in the minority in that, considering the first 50 minutes are really just watching the two leads talk to each other and interview locals about Bigfoot, but I found the dialogue well written and entertaining to watch. Shit really hits the fan in the last 20 minutes though, as we witness the two main characters in one (seemingly) continuous shot hearing noises outside their tent for nearly 20 minutes. Describing the scene doesn’t do it much justice, but the sound design is excellent and I was pretty freaked out as I watched it in the dark in my bedroom. If you can get over your reservations about found footage (and go in knowing the first 50 minutes are not scary and a bit slow), I think you’ll enjoy this movie. The final 20 minutes were disturbing enough to freak me out so I’m curious to know if any of you had the same reaction.
