Vic Morow – Twilight Zone: The Movie
Morrow played the lead character in the John Landis-directed “Time Out” segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie. In a very unfortunate accident, Morrow was decapitated by a helicopter blade while filming a scene set in Vietnam where his character is trying to escape from a U.S. army helicopter with two children (who were both also killed in the helicopter crash). The helicopter crashed due to a pyrotechnic explosion that damaged it, causing it to crash down on top of Morrow and the two children. The accident led to the implementation of several new safety procedures in the film industry.
