Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
No one ever expected there to be a sequel to Wrong Turn, much less for it to be any good. Wrong Turn 2 is so much fun that it can almost (almost) make you forget the 4(!) sequels that follow it. Wrong Turn 2 opens with a spectacular (and meta) kill and doesn’t slow down from there. You’ll never forget the image of two of the inbred killers have sex with each other while wearing the scalp of one of their victims. It’s also a smart movie that is (believe it or not) well-written. The most annoying character in the film actually earns sympathy in his final moments, and it pulls a Psycho by killing off the actress you think will be the lead character in the first 30 minutes. None of this is revelatory, but it’s unexpected in a direct-to-DVD sequel to Wrong Turn.
