Who would have ever though that one of the most famous and successful horror films of all time opened the day after Christmas? The Exorcist‘s performance is astonishing for many reasons, but none more so than the fact that it was released during a month when all odds would have prompted anyone to bet against it. If The Exorcist can teach Hollywood anything, it’s that horror movies can do well in December, they just have to be good (so stop dumping shitty movies into December and help change the trend!).
