10. The Diabolical

It kills me to include The Diabolical on this list because I absolutely adore Ali Larter, but this film did nothing for me. The film is comparable to The Babadook in that it follows a mother (Ali Larter) who must protect her children from an unknown force/spirit that is targeting her children. The film takes a jarring turn into science fiction in the final reel, which seems clever at first until you realize that the little explanation we are given doesn’t make much sense, making The Diabolical an ultimately frustrating viewing experience.
