5. Dark Was the Night

I love creature features. Just mention that phrase when describing a movie and I’m sold. So imagine my disappointment when I put on Dark Was the Night and this is what I got. The acting in the film is great, as Pat mentioned in his review, but the film sort of a drag. It’s slow pace hampers any enjoyment one might get from a film about monsters attacking a small town in the winter. What hurts the film most is that it ends where it feels like the third act should just be beginning. Yet again, we have a film that isn’t terrible, but it could have been so much more.
