Signs
It’s not that the ending of Signs is bad, it’s just a little too convenient. The big twist is that the aliens creating all of the crop circles are allergic to water, which comprises 71% of the planet Earth. Interesting strategy for a hostile takeover, no? It denies us the climax we waited an hour and a half for and then the film just sort of ends. You’d think Steven Spielberg would have learned a lesson from this film, but he went ahead and did the same thing in his 2005 adaptation of War of the Worlds, making the aliens allergic to the microbes present on Earth.
