It
Two words: spider monster. Much has been said about how ridiculous the climax of this miniseries is, and that’s because it is very ridiculous. It’s difficult to say why it reads so much better in Stephen King’s novel, but it’s most likely because the Ray Harryhausen effects of a basic cable budget in 1990 didn’t allow for much realism. The thing looked ridiculous, and it turned what was a terrifying and heartbreaking ending of King’s novel into a joke.
