The Houses October Built
This film had such promise too! It follows a group of friends who are traveling to Halloween haunted houses all over the country in search of something truly scary. There’s a lot of buildup over the course of the film’s 91 minutes with tons of creepy moments and imagery (and an out-of-place dancing clown named Giggles). All of that buildup leads to a rather flat ending in which the characters are chased, caught and then buried alive. End of story. It’s as if the writers just said “screw it” and didn’t want to take their premise any further. The Houses October Built was a huge missed opportunity.
