Scream 2
This is the first movie that popped into my mind when I thought about what should be on the list. Weirdly enough, it was my least favorite when I originally watched the series over a decade ago, but has grown on me over time. It’s more suspenseful, the body count is indeed higher, there’s more backstory and the mythology is expanded upon. Gale’s chase scene in the audiovisual studio is arguably the best sequence in the franchise. The Mrs. Loomis reveal is what killed the movie for me on an initial viewing, but now I kind of love it. Scream 2 is the perfect sequel and it’s better than Scream. There, I said it.
