Ranking the 10 Worst Horror Movie Remakes!

Worst Horror Remakes

9. Poltergeist

Speaking of lazy, look no further than last year’s Poltergeist. There isn’t really anything overtly bad about the film, it’s just such a missed opportunity that mediocrity may very well be the its biggest sin. Many of the main set pieces are lifted straight from the original film, but they are executed as if everyone on set was sleepwalking through the whole thing. Don’t even get me started on Rosemarie DeWitt and Sam Rockwell, whose worry over their daughter’s disappearance is akin to how they would act if they had lost the TV remote (I cannot take full credit for this analogy, as our own Villain Smash Editor-in-Chief Daniel Baldwin who wrote this on my Facebook wall one day). It’s a passable film, but at the end of the day it’s just boring and not very scary.
