The day has finally arrived for fans on PC and consoles to get their hands on Jason Voorhees in Dead by Daylight. Previously only available on the PTB on Steam, Jason is now available on the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

Known as The Slasher, Jason’s abilities are split into two distinct components, the first being Omnipresent Evil—a stealth-based ability that encapsulates the Killer’s knack for popping up in unexpected places to catch his victims off guard. Activating Omnipresent Evil causes Jason to vanish from the Map entirely, allowing him to move at increased speed while giving Survivors zero clues as to his whereabouts. While invisible, Jason can track his prey through faint visual cues like footsteps.

To reappear, Jason targets key environmental points such as Pallets, Vault points, and breakable walls—bursting back into action with explosive force. For added effect, these sudden appearances (known as his Jump Scare ability) can destroy breakable obstacles around him and trigger screams from nearby prey. Survivors will have to contend with the tension that comes from suddenly losing track of Jason, and knowing a vicious attack could be waiting.

The second half of Jason’s Power is his Impaling Throw, which taps into his signature creativity when it comes to kills, utilizing the items available in his environment. Scattered throughout the Map are containers filled with makeshift projectiles—fragments of Lockers, broken Generator parts, shattered Pallets, even Hooks.

Jason can pick up and throw these items with devastating force. Unlike other ranged Killers, each projectile must be gathered individually and will only be replenished the next time Jason enters Omnipresent Evil, adding a layer of strategy to their use.

A successful hit will stagger Survivors, but under the right conditions, Jason can also score some welcome style points. If an injured Survivor is struck near a wall, they’ll be pinned in place—left helpless and suspended until Jason strides up to claim them.

And if you missed it, Dead by Daylight’s 10 anniversary stream gave fans plenty of updates on the future of the title, including the announcement of the director for the film adaptation in Thordur Palsson (The Damned).

After making a surprise reveal at Summer Game Fest, Panache Digital Games has gotten the ball rolling on the first entry in the new developer diary series for 1666: Amsterdam. The first episode, entitled “The Vision: The Real City That Became a Myth”, takes viewers behind the creative vision of the game, exploring how the team transformed the real streets of Amsterdam into a world shaped by mystery, superstition, and hidden truths.

The diary reveals how the entire studio travelled to Amsterdam in 2024 to study the city’s streets, canals, architecture, sounds, and atmosphere firsthand. Rather than relying solely on historical references, the devteam immersed themselves in the city’s environment to better understand its scale, rhythm, and character.

The diary also delves into the game’s exploration systems, including the ability to enter houses, traverse rooftops, and navigate the city alongside a feline companion, creating multiple opportunities for discovery and player choice.

“Inviting the studio to Amsterdam was, at its core, about sharing something,” explains Patrice Désilets, Panache Digital Games Co-Founder & Creative Director. “We gathered everyone and said: come into your game. Come experience it the way I did.”

Set to launch into Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, 1666: Amsterdam centres around the eponymous city that was built on wealth, power, and sheer will, but now fuelled by a sinister force it did not forge. Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed. Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.

Take part in Noa’s Commencement as she inherits the mantle of the Collector. Unravel a mystery that spans centuries. Choose the companion that will walk beside you. Follow the traces left behind in a city shaped by secrets, power, and memory.

Luckily for fans, even after the release of Vampire Crawlers earlier this year, Poncle is still not done with Vampire Survivors. The developer recently announced a new chapter for Vampire Survivors, as well as a new expansion entitled “Legacy of the Bloodmoon”, which is expected later this summer. That “new chapter” coincides with Poncle having released a free content update for Vampire Survivors, as well as launching Survivaton, a new label for its growing lineup of Survivors-inspired projects.

Survivaton is the name of poncle’s new lineup of Survivors-like projects. Short for “survive a ton,” the label encompasses internally developed games that build on the foundation of Vampire Survivors, in collaboration with selected content partners. Each project will aim to introduce major gameplay changes, content expansions, or genre twists exploring ideas substantial enough to stand as their own games.

The Survivaton initiative will serve as Poncle’s umbrella for future Survivors-like releases, and reflecting its place as the foundation of the series, Vampire Survivors will also be renamed to Vampire Survivors – First Survivaton.

To celebrate this new chapter, the game has releasing its free Patch 1.15 update on Steam, featuring a new stage, new characters, new weapons, and new Darkanas. Patch 1.15 will be released on all other platforms a bit later by the end of the month, due to platform-specific optimizations and differences in save slots management. And for Switch 2 fans, there will be a version of Vampire Survivors coming soon, with better performance and mouse support.

Meanwhile, described as the “evil twin” to the game’s first-ever expansion pack Legacy of the Moonspell, Legacy of the Bloodmoon is expected this summer across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. The expansion will include a substantial 10 new characters, more than 16 weapons and evolutions, a new XL stage, and 8 new music tracks. As part of this release, poncle will expand Legacy of the Moonspell with additional content and permanently reduce its price, ensuring both it and Legacy of the Bloodmoon deliver a similarly substantial experience.

In addition to Steam, Vampire Survivors is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Epic Games Store.

Not many live service titles make it to ten years, but Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight has done just that. Having reached it on the heels of back-to-back record-setting years, and following a day-long fan event in Montreal’s Old Port, the development team took to the stage to reveal what’s next for the next decade of Dead by Daylight.

Kicking things off was a recap of the game’s upcoming Chapter as horror icon Jason Voorhees finally lands June 16 on all platforms. Next was the surprise reveal of a Survivor-focused Chapter featuring original character Shane Wiigwaas, the game’s first Indigenous Survivor. Dead by Daylight: The Life Road follows shortly after Jason, releasing June 25 on all platforms.

Jason’s not the only surprise to hit this year, as Art the Clown is poised to enter with Dead by Daylight: Terrifier this November! This follows the August release of Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin – the game’s first-ever Chapter developed entirely in collaboration with its community.

Looking even further ahead, Dead by Daylight will see a collaboration next year with its first narrative-driven title, The Casting of Frank Stone.

On the gameplay front, Dead by Daylight will be getting a visual overhaul next year, which will be designed to make every Trial more immersive and emotionally impactful. The update will introduce new character model reworks with expanded animation capabilities, alongside realistic facial animations that bring greater expression and nuance to characters.

Maps and environments will also receive significant upgrades, including enhanced lighting, shading, and textures, improved Fog and Mist effects, a stronger Entity presence, and, for the first time in Dead by Daylight, dynamic weather systems featuring light rain, heavy rain, and storms. New voice lines for all applicable original characters will additionally be recorded and introduced over time as part of the initiative.

New Game Modes will also be rolled out in the coming years, including a 1v1 Mode and Zombie Mode.

Lastly, the game will be officially opened up to sandboxed modding. The dev team is currently working on a suite of tools to put in players’ hands sometime next year that will give them everything they need to cook up and share new Maps, Modes, and everything in between.

On the film front, Behaviour Interactive Executive Vice President Stephen Mulrooney provided fans with an update on the upcoming Dead by Daylight film, alongside producer Jason Blum. With a screenplay by Alexandre Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes remake) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick already completed, the group announced that Thordur Palsson (The Damned, Avalanche) will be the film’s director.

And for those in love with cosmetics, Behaviour also offered up a sneak preview of several of the game’s upcoming Collections. The Black Banquet Collection tied to this year’s Anniversary Event, which runs from June 25th to July 16th, will offer players some party-appropriate formal wear. The desert-themed Sunflesh Collection will also deliver new looks as part of one of Dead by Daylight’s next Rifts.

Also announced were a new Eddie Legendary Outfit for The Huntress in honor of Iron Maiden’s 50th anniversary, and an Ice Nine Kills Collection inspired by the heavy metal band who thrilled fans at the event with the debut of their new Dead by Daylight-themed track and music video.

Expanding on existing franchises, The Walking Dead Collection will add Glenn and Negan as Legendary Outfits for Rick, while a new Silent Hill Collection Legendary Outfit for Cheryl will transform her into Shimizu Hinako from Silent Hill f.

Finally, after years of fan requests, the team will be teaming up with Hanna-Barbera to bring Scooby-Doo into Dead by Daylight. That’s not all, as Behaviour Interactive will be teaming up with Blizzard to launch the new Diablo Collection this October!

Just in case it wasn’t already clear, Jason Voorhees will be arriving in Dead by Daylight next week. And along with teasing their 10th Anniversary Livestream on June 14, Behaviour Interactive also dropped another teaser, this time for Jason and his never-before-seen Bloody Jason skin. That also includes a Redband variant, just for old time’s sake.

While it’s unclear for now just how players can snag this gory cosmetic, the skin joins the other three previously-revealed skins in the Jason Collection, featuring a range of Outfits that pay homage to his legacy while being reimagined in ways only The Fog could shape. Jason’s default Outfit presents the unmistakable icon from Jason Universe, originally designed by horror legend Greg Nicotero: a 13-holed hockey mask, machete, and weather-beaten clothing worn through countless kills.

Additional outfits include Backwoods Terror, which trades Jason’s jacket for flannel and suspenders, and his machete for a heavy axe. Death Forsaken offers a more grotesque incarnation with decayed features, exposed bone, and a shovel in hand. Lastly, Jason’s Depths of Despair Outfit sees him emerging from the depths; a vision of terror covered head-to-toe in barnacles, coral, and seaweed.

Dead by Daylight is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

GSC Game World continues to increase the buzz for the upcoming Cost of Hope expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, releasing a brand new trailer offering a glimpse of brand-new locations to explore, alongside familiar locations that have been fully reimagined for newcomers and Heart of Chornobyl veterans alike.

The trailer also highlights the expansion emotional journey, filled with unsettling encounters, complex personalities, and a prevalent sense of decay, all set within the iconic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. atmosphere.

Cost of Hope explores the long-running conflict within the Zone between two iconic factions. Zulu, a series veteran from Duty, and Mavka, a member of Freedom, are set to uncover new and terrifying mysteries of the Zone under increasingly tense circumstances. Caught in a rapidly unfolding chapter of an age-old confrontation, Skif — the protagonist controlled by the player — must follow previously unexplored paths and face dangers beyond comprehension, choosing sides and once again shaping the future of Chornobyl through his decisions.

And for those lore junkies, GSC Game World has released a new blog post on the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 website. The post in question provides insight into what players can expect on their journey in Cost of Hope, as well as more about the history and context behind the legendary conflict between Duty and Freedom.

Players can expect dozens of hours of gameplay, exciting exploration, breathtaking mysteries of all sizes, and revelations worthy of the saga’s legacy when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope launches later this summer for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com, the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

Techland is once again catering to the fans, announcing a new content initiative for Dying Light 2: Stay Human known as “The Breach”. This new program opens the franchise to fresh experiences, bringing together two kinds of UGC (user-generated content).

In addition to featured maps built in close collaboration between Techland’s developers and selected creators, The Breach includes standout mods “chosen for their bold ideas and fresh takes”  that are curated by Techland, and powered by the people who play the game.

“At Techland, we’ve always looked for new ways to innovate, and we see tremendous potential in UGC,” says Rafał Polito, UGC Program Manager. “By providing players with the right framework and tools, we’re enabling them to create and share new experiences within the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human.”

The Breach is built on three pillars:

  • Curated by Techland. Every chapter is reviewed, selected, and shipped with our studio’s stamp.

  • Powered by fans. Selected creators work directly with our developers, and the wider community shapes the content pool.

  • Always something new. Themed worlds drop on a rolling schedule with new rewards in every chapter.

Patch 1.28 launches the program with its first chapter, Survival Archives. Fan-favorite characters Tolga and Fatin have torn the fabric of the universe, unleashing hand-picked maps that range from co-developed scenarios polished alongside our studio to raw community submissions that take the world in unexpected directions. Players can expect a variety of new gameplay options, including third-person traversal, low-gravity parkour, hardcore survival pockets, and experimental modifiers that “twist the core formula in ways the main game never could.”

The Breach also gives players plenty of reasons to keep coming back. Players earn XP in both the main game and in new maps and modes, so progression carries over wherever you play. Each chapter also brings new weapons and gear to chase.

Patch 1.28 also includes improvements to the core game. The devteam has rebuilt the opening hours to smooth onboarding for new players, and rebalanced the early game – encounters difficulty and early loot accessibility – to get players into the core experience faster. That’s on top of revamping the game’s visuals, including environment elements, cutscene lighting, and overall color balance.

Players can check out the new devblog to learn more about The Breach.

Dying Light 2 is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

During the Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, publisher Wired Productions and developer LKA released a three-minute developer presentation for psychological horror game When Sirens Fall Silent, offering players a deeper look into the mystery, characters, and unsettling world of the upcoming psychological thriller.

Following two creative story-based cinematic reveals (which you can watch here and here) that introduced the game’s atmosphere, themes, and central mystery, LKA Founder and Director Luca Dalcò guides viewers further into the world of the forgotten people, revealing more of what awaits players as they uncover the truth behind a series of kidnappings and murders.

From the creators of Martha is Dead, When Sirens Fall Silent casts players as Mila, a policewoman in early 1990s Rome, Italy. Haunted by a past she’s desperate to escape, Mila is thrust into a high-profile case of kidnappings and murders. As the investigation unravels, you must not only save her from herself, but also from being consumed by the violence, mystery and confusion.

Featuring a branching, multi-layered narrative dialogue system, with a huge focus on verbal and emotional interaction, investigation and subsequent choices, players will be faced with difficult real-world topics. LKA aims to “pull no punches” with its story, but also hints at a few surprises along the way.

When Sirens Fall Silent is currently in development for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

4A Games and Deep Silver followed up the April reveal of METRO 2039 with a new gameplay trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase, as well as narrowing down the release window to February 2027, which technically is still “this Winter”. The gameplay trailer features nearly three minutes of footage captured completely in-game, as well as the first look at Hunter, the new Fuhrer who has “washed the Metro in lies and propaganda to gain the ultimate power.”

Blending jaw-dropping gameplay and impressive graphical fidelity the trailer showcases the return of close and claustrophobic stealth-action gameplay, tunnel and surface exploration, iconic METRO mechanics and diegetic survival elements.  The 3-minute premier also gives a glimpse at the new stealth weapon known as The Shatun, as well as a new breaching charge for your arsenal as you delve deep into the dark heart of the Metro.

The Metro has been transformed by a powerful new regime and its leader, the fanatical Spartan leader known as Hunter.  METRO 2039’s protagonist, The Stranger, is consumed with anger and hatred, chastising the Fuhrer for his lies and hypocrisy.  As part of the Spartan Order, Hunter was a legend, a high-ranking, experienced Ranger, who swore to protect the Metro.  What’s left of the Spartan Order as he knew it lies in ruins, and where the Spartans were once considered selfless protectors, the Stranger believes Hunter has become the very enemy the Spartans used to fight.

Look for METRO 2039 on the Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Leaks be damned, as Bloober Team has officially revealed new story DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn with Cronos: Lazarus. Co-developed by Bloober and PixelAnt Games, the new DLC sees players step into the boots of the Warden to experience a faster, more aggressive style of combat as you fight to complete a mission the Collective must never uncover.

Return to the wastelands of New Dawn as the once-loyal Pathfinder in the process of transforming into the Warden you know and love from the base game. Isolated in the Terminal and severed from the Collective, he devotes every waking moment to awakening a lost Essence he refuses to let fade. Your sanctuary, however, has been compromised. A new kind of hunter has been deployed with one directive: to find and eliminate you.

Cronos: Lazarus shifts the combat experience towards a more aggressive style of gameplay. Whereas in The New Dawn, you focused more on precision and picking your battles, the expansion lets you experience what it means to be one of the Collective’s elite agents. Scarred and broken by a lifetime of survival in the wasteland, the Warden is not at full strength, but even in his damaged state, he retains the ability to move fast, strike hard and survive against mounting pressure.

The Warden is powerful, but he will not remain unchallenged for long. In this DLC, he will face off against an adversary engineered specifically to stop him. This new pursuer is relentless, highly adaptive, and fully capable of matching the Warden’s strength. Your battles will escalate into large scale, cinematic encounters that will test every skill you possess.

Take advantage of your enhanced traversal and combat abilities that include the power to leave a decoy in your wake and become temporarily invisible to your enemies. Command tools and technology reserved for a Pathfinder. Deploy your skillset wisely as you push through even harsher challenges than anything encountered before.

No release date has yet been set for Cronos: Lazarus, which will be coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series,  and the Nintendo Switch 2.

IllFonic and Gun Interactive revealed the second map for Halloween: The Game earlier this week, and have now unleashed a new trailer for the asymmetrical multiplayer title, focusing on the single player campaign. Narrated by Dr. Loomis, the trailer offers a glimpse of Michael making his way home on that fateful night.

Halloween: The Game is one of the most iconic horror films ever made, and we knew that bringing it into a game meant earning the right to put players behind that mask,” said Jared Gerritzen, IllFonic Chief Creative Officer. “We recreated specific shots, leaned into the original score’s DNA, and worked to make Haddonfield feel like the place fans remember. Now, it’s up to each player to create their own version of Michael: patient, brutal, methodical, or something else entirely.”

Live out the chilling story surrounding Michael Myers’ escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and the terrifying events that followed. Embody pure evil as the true Boogeyman and commit the horrors leading to Halloween Night in 1978. Cinematic story cutscenes introduce chapters, characters, and story beats with iconic Halloween: The Game aesthetics and shot recreations, building a Haddonfield inspired by the original film. Yet the game goes beyond paying homage to the seminal movie, taking it in creative new directions to inject surprises and build upon Michael Myers’ monstrous, mythical intrigue.

Become the Shape across six haunting chapters, slashing through new and familiar locations while Dr. Sam Loomis narrates his findings and experiences. Uncover how Myers acquired his iconic jumpsuit, mask, and kitchen knife, and orchestrated the deaths of every unsuspecting victim leading up to the final babysitter encounter. The single-player storymode weaves a mix of the original 1978 film while introducing space for player creativity: play and end Michael Myers’ bloody tale while making it personal.

Halloween: The Game’s sandbox approach continues in the game’s story mode, providing a multitude of ways to find, stalk, and kill victims. The perfect Michael Myers carefully stalks his targets, waiting for the right moment to execute kills for true murderous satisfaction. Yet he can’t always play with his prey: sometimes keeping the cops at bay necessitates a victim’s quick death.

Each chapter contains a distinct set of secondary challenges and collectibles that reveal new executions, scenarios, and lore, unlocking exclusive cosmetics for Multiplayer mode. Several difficulty options test and reward players who want to understand what it takes to be a truly ruthless Michael Myers.

Halloween: The Game digital pre-orders start today. The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $59.99.  The latter includes the game, an Exclusive Michael Myers Skin, two Exclusive Civilians and more!

Halloween: The Game will launch on PlayStation 5Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 8.

After teasing fans last month, Frogwares has announced an August 18 release date for The Sinking City 2. Announced during the Future Games Show, the developer also shadow dropped a new demo, along with a new trailer, appropriately titled “Welcome to Arkham.”

As for the demo, players will get to experience the opening hour of the full game and offers an early look at Frogwares’ take on survival horror. It also provides the first opportunity to properly meet the new protagonist, occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, and begin uncovering the reasons behind his tragic and arduous journey into the flooded and Eldritch monster-infested city of Arkham.

Set in a Lovecraftian vision of 1920s America, in the infamous city of Arkham, a supernatural flood has driven out all but the most deranged residents, leaving decay and eldritch horrors that roam the streets. Players step into the role of Calvin Rafferty, an occult adventurer whose cavalier actions have led to devastating consequences. After a dreaming ritual goes wrong, his girlfriend, Faye, is left trapped in a mysterious sleep. Now Calvin must navigate the drowned streets of a derelict city in a desperate attempt to bring her back. On his quest, he’ll come face to face with a plague of otherworldly creatures, the Slither, who possess and twist the dead into lethal, walking puppets.

The Sinking City 2 is currently in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. And while you wait for that demo to download, check out Harrison’s preview.

Remedy Entertainment followed up with the release date news earlier this week for Control Resonant with a brand-new Paranatural Manhattan trailer. Narrated by Emily Pope, who returns from the original game as the acting director of the Federal Bureau of Control, the new trailer reveals more of Control Resonant’s twisted version of the city of New York.

“In this latest trailer we are excited to show the variety and world building we have injected into Control Resonant. Our talented development team is bringing back some of the vibes from the original game, with the return of the Oldest House and Emily Pope narrating,” said Mikael Kasurinen, Creative Director of Control Resonant.

The trailer features an exclusive song “Manalan Mailla” performed by Finnish ethno-pop artist Vilma Jää. The track, which was composed specifically for Control Resonant, was written by Jää, Teemu Brunila, and Jurek.

“Manalan Mailla is inspired by the Ingrian ensemble runonlaulu tradition, with its heterophonic choral parts and lyrics based on alliteration and iteration,” said Vilma Jää. “I also included some herding calls in the song, as I just love to sing as high and as loud as possible whenever I get the chance. Working with the music-making superstars Teemu Brunila and Jurek was very inspiring and a huge honour. Together we created something very catchy while still respecting the folklore.”

Control Resonant arrives September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are now open.

Annapurna Interactive and Konami didn’t wait until Summer Game Fest to announce the release date for Silent Hill Townfall. The upcoming Screen Burn-developed title will launch on September 24, with a new trailer to go along with the announcement.

Simon Ordell, who is called back to the island of St. Amelia in Scotland to ‘put things right’. What he encounters is a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest. All he has on him besides his clothes are an IV bag and a medical wristband with his name on it. He heads to the town with no leads but the voices from the CRTV he picked up along the way. Venturing deeper and driven to understand his connection to the place and its inhabitants, Simon begins to discover fragments of a past rising to the surface.

Played entirely in first person, Townfall has players exploring, evading, and ultimately trying to survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including the CRTV, a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.

Developed by Screen Burn and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami, Silent Hill Townfall will release for PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

You won’t have to wait very long to save the world in Dear Villagers and developer Drop Rate Studio’s 2D Lovecraftian underwater roguelite Dive or Die: Children of Rain. The teams have announced a July 21 launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and have released a new trailer to mark the occasion, showcasing more gameplay. There’s also the demo that’s still available on Steam.

The story concerns years of the eerie “Black Rain” that have drowned the entire world, leaving few survivors. A race against time has started, as the Rainmaker, an Eldritch Divinity, has given humanity one final choice: recover its sacred idols hidden deep within the “Abyssal Pool” in under 40 days, or face extinction in the final Flood.

Players will lead a desperate camp of survivors clinging to the last remnants of land. To succeed, they will balance managing their camp on the surface, while making deadly descents into the Abyssal Pool below. Every dive is a gamble against dwindling oxygen, physical injury, and the creeping madness, thanks to the otherworldly horrors that lurk in the darkness.

On the surface, players will rebuild infrastructure, assign survivors to vital roles, and upgrade diving gear. Each decision is a trade-off between immediate survival and long-term preparation. Below, you’ll need to efficiently navigate among the depths and those that dwell there, while hoping to return to the surface with much-needed resources and live and dive another day.

Stormind Games has released their second Dev Diary for Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, unveiling new elements surrounding the story and narrative universe of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy. The team once again emphasized that players will not need to have experienced the first two Remothered titles to fully enjoy and understand Red Nun’s Legacy. This third entry has been designed as an accessible entry point for newcomers, featuring a self-contained story and a new gateway into the saga.

The protagonist Susan, voiced by BAFTA-winning actress Cissy Jones, faces a deeply personal ordeal: when her daughter is kidnapped, her desperate search eventually leads her to an abandoned villa on Mount Etna, a place destined to become the heart of a nightmare filled with secrets, trauma, and disturbing presences.

As the story unfolds, players will gradually uncover the history of the family at the center of the events, maintaining an atmosphere strongly inspired by classic Italian horror and its most iconic influences, drawing inspiration from the visual language and mood from the likes of Mario Bava and Dario Argento.

This new entry will also allow Stormind to further expand the lore of the Remothered universe, introducing new locations, mysteries, and story elements that deepen the mythology of the saga. Alongside the mysterious Convent of the Cristo Morente, players will uncover more details about the Order of the Red Nuns, a central component of Red Nun’s Legacy and one of the key elements connecting the events of the entire series.

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is expected later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com.

For those Dead by Daylight Steam players who haven’t jumped on the Playable Test Build to give Jason Voorhees a whirl before he stalks the asymmetrical horror game in a matter of weeks, Behaviour Interactive is giving you an idea of what you’re missing with a new short-but sweet trailer posted to X.

Focusing on the idea that you’ll never see Jason coming, the trailer touches on one of his abilities in Omnipresent Evil—a stealth-based ability that encapsulates the Killer’s knack for popping up in unexpected places to catch his victims off guard. Activating Omnipresent Evil causes Jason to vanish from the Map entirely, allowing him to move at increased speed while giving Survivors zero clues as to his whereabouts. While invisible, Jason can track his prey through faint visual cues like footsteps.

Jason’s other ability taps into his signature creativity when it comes to kills in Improvised Carnage. Scattered throughout the Map are containers filled with makeshift projectiles. Jason can pick up and throw these items with devastating force. Unlike other ranged Killers, each projectile must be gathered individually and will only be replenished the next time Jason enters Omnipresent Evil, adding a layer of strategy to their use.

Jason, known in the game as The Slasher, will be arriving in Dead by Daylight on June 16 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

It’s been a while since Gun Interactive and IllFonic revealed the Haddonfield Heights map for Halloween: The Game. So what better way to ring in the summer gaming season than to reveal another? Today the devteams have revealed the second map for the game in the Haddonfield Town Center map.

“Nothing quite says “Small Town America” like a leisurely stroll through a quaint Midwestern downtown,” reads the official description. “We are excited to welcome players to Haddonfield Town Center, our second official map reveal for Halloween: The Game, and Haddonfield’s bustling cultural hotspot.”

The description makes note of a couple of locations, from the local hardware store and pub, to the town post office and cemetery.

“Given the enduring love for the Halloween franchise, constructing the expanded landscapes of Haddonfield has been both a profound honor and thrilling opportunity,” says Art Director Cole Gray. The team used the original film locations to serve as as their primary reference point, using “brief glimpses” of those landmarks, fleshing them out into a cohesive, atmospheric Midwest town.

“What excites me most about these playspaces is the depth of immersion they provide. We aren’t just building a static map; we’re creating a stage for high-stakes roleplay where players become the leads in their very own horror movies, Giving fans the freedom to inhabit this world within the direct context of the film’s narrative offers a level of cinematic agency that I believe fundamentally elevates our efforts with Halloween: The Game.”

Halloween: The Game comes home to the PlayStation 5Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 8th.

While we await the final season of Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher, not to mention the next entry in the video game series with The Witcher IV, CD Projekt RED decided to surprise everyone with a brand new DLC announcement for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Entitled “Songs of the Past”, the third expansion to Wild Hunt will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Co-developed by Fool’s Theory (the folks behind 2024’s dark fantasy RPG The Thaumaturge), Songs of the Past is the first new expansion for The Witcher 3 since “Blood and Wine” first launched back in 2016. The expansion is slated to return players to the role of legendary monster slayer Geralt of Rivia ahead of The Witcher IV‘s turn with Ciri as the main protagonist. More news on Songs of the Past is expected later this summer.

The Witcher 3 has sold more than 60 million copies since its release way back in 2015, and is the winner of more than 250 Game of the Year awards and 1,000 industry awards. If for whatever reason you haven’t picked it up, you can find it on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.

Those who have been following Separuh Interactive and their upcoming Indonesian slasher survival horror title AGNI: Village of Calamity will be pleased to know that Wired Productions have inked a worldwide publishing deal for the game. Coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, AGNI styles itself as a cinematic survival horror, combining terror and ritual strangeness, with “Indonesian slasher-style violence.”

Inspired by Indonesian horror films, in AGNI: Village of Calamity, you take on the role of Agni, an investigator from a secret Agency, driven by regret, who disobeys the rules, as she searches for her missing partner inside the forbidden village, Desa Purba. On this rogue mission, Agni descends deeper into violence, obsession, and psychological collapse. Faced with limited resources, Agni must solve environmental puzzles and survive relentless pressure as grotesque horrors stalk her through the darkness.

“Our ambition with AGNI is to push the boundaries of Indonesian horror into the ‘New Weird’ space, creating a psychological thriller that challenges the player’s perception of reality,” explains Ardhan Fadhlurrahman, COO, Separuh Interactive. “We are proud to work alongside Wired Productions, whose commitment to championing creative visionaries makes them the ideal partner to share our passion for authentic Indonesian storytelling with a worldwide audience.”

Just in case you aren’t one of the 7 million plus that have bought Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has gone the “try before you buy” route again, offering a demo of the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The Requiem demo allows you to play part of the game’s early stages. However, save data from the demo cannot be transferred to the full version of Requiem.

Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core.

And if you haven’t already, you can peruse the new merchandise collaboration between the Resident Evil franchise and Japanese metal band Babymetal as part of the franchise’s ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations.

Obviously, for fans who have already played the game (and the recent LEON MUST DIE FOREVER” mode), the big news is still to come with that story expansion that was revealed earlier this year by Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi.

Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to director Zach Cregger’s take on the franchise when Resident Evil opens in theaters and IMAX on September 18. Check out the recent onesheets while you wait.

After the big reveal over the weekend, Behaviour Interactive has delved into the details for Jason Voorhees‘ upcoming addition to Dead by Daylight. For starters, Jason’s gameplay delivers a blend of stealth, scares and brutality for players looking to embody the relentless force and power that have defined the character’s 45-year legacy.

“There was never a question that our 10th Anniversary Chapter couldn’t just be big – it needed to be something really special,” says Behaviour Interactive Senior Creative Director, Dave Richard. “When we started to see a path to finally making this partnership a reality for our 10th, we knew then the perfect Jason moment had come. We’re just thrilled the stars aligned and we were able to work with the great folks at Jason Universe to deliver this for our players on such a major milestone for Dead by Daylight.”

As we already know from the weekend trailer, Jason, known in the game as The Slasher, will be arriving in Dead by Daylight on June 16. Prior to that, he’ll available on May 26 as part of the Steam public test build.

As for Jason’s abilities, his Power is split into two distinct components, the first being Omnipresent Evil—a stealth-based ability that encapsulates the Killer’s knack for popping up in unexpected places to catch his victims off guard.

For added effect, these sudden appearances can destroy breakable obstacles around him and trigger screams from nearby prey. Survivors will have to contend with the tension that comes from suddenly losing track of Jason, and knowing a vicious attack could be waiting.

The second half of Jason’s Power taps into his signature creativity when it comes to kills, utilizing the items available in his environment.

Launching alongside the Chapter is the Jason Collection, featuring a range of Outfits that pay homage to his legacy while being reimagined in ways only The Fog could shape.

Dead by Daylight: Jason will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

The wish for the addition of Jason Voorhees to Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical horror hit Dead by Daylight is finally being granted.

With Dead by Daylight celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, what better way to celebrate than to finally land the big guy himself?!

Jason’s impending arrival in The Fog was revealed as part of the Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary stream this morning in a brand-new trailer.

No details on just what Jason’s appearance in the game entails, but expect more soon.

Jason enters the world of Dead by Daylight on June 16, 2026.

Jason Voorhees has a long history in the world of video games, dating back to his unique purple & blue look in the Friday the 13th NES game. He returned in Friday the 13th: The Game, and he’s also been featured in Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat over the years.

This is a big year for Jason Voorhees, with A24 and Peacock’s television series “Crystal Lake” set to premiere this coming October. The prequel series premieres on October 15, 2026.

The arrival of Jason Voorhees to Dead by Daylight is made possible by the Jason Universe, a multi-platform expansion of the Friday the 13th franchise from its original owners.

What else can we expect from the Jason Universe this year? Stay tuned…

Following the launch of Season 6: Project Judas, which introduced Reagents to the Television Studio where the Kress Twins’ manufactured political idol Bob Vanier, Red Barrels’ The Outlast Trials is running it back with Season 6.1: Prime Time. Available now, the new update “turns the dial even further toward fear, worship, contradiction, and control.”

The limited-time event prepares Reagents for a future dominated by clashing cults of personality and competing fundamentalist ideals. During the event, players will face a rotating onslaught of Prime Assets, destroy defective televisions for additional rewards, unlock new limited-time cosmetics, and endure two new MK-Challenges designed to “test faith, obedience, and survival instinct”.

In MK-Challenge: Win The Truth, you are the blind observer who consumes screen-fed ignorance and swells with the genius of idiot artifice. You must spread the knowledge that brings suffering to the wise in order to win the game which only punishes the defeated. Meanwhile, MK-Challenge: Incinerate The Relic has you as both heretic and zealot. Relics are the proof of an impossible gospel, the belief that makes whole the deservedly slaughtered lamb. Pay your way into heaven and incinerate the relic to get out.

There’s still more to come, thanks to some new “routine therapies” that will be available next month. The first known as Classified, takes place from June 16 to June 30, and will see multiple secret variators added to the game.  The second is Mirror, which runs from June 30 to July 14, and sees the Trial perspective “altered” to mislead Reagents. Furthermore, by popular demand, Murkoff is extending each Routine Therapy to two weeks, giving Reagents more time to adapt or fail under these conditions.

You can read the full patch notes here. The Outlast Trials is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games StorePlayStation, and Xbox.

LINE Games and Phase 8 Studio have launched the first demo for their tactical FPS CODE EXIT. It’s you and up to three friends to descend into the AI-controlled city of Pantheon and battle the rogue AI Minvera in the “suffocating” atmosphere of the city in order to find the truth.

Players take on the role of investigators sent into Pantheon, which has been overrun by the rogue AI known as Minerva, an integrated artificial intelligence that has turned the city into a locked-down machine nightmare. As players explore dark, isolated facilities, they’ll have to contend with Minerva roaming the city, observing their behavior in real time, and adapting its tactics. Restore systems, recover hidden data, and work together to uncover the truth behind the collapse of Pantheon before Minerva closes in.

Players can choose to face the Minerva alone, or as mentioned, team up with up to three other players. The game scales its intensity based on your group size. Success depends on real-time communication and strategic coordination to stay one step ahead of Minerva.

Every playthrough offers a different mission to the exit. You must complete a series of randomized and stage-specific objectives while navigating the foreboding environment. No two sessions feel the same, as the missions and threats constantly evolve.

That main threat is Minerva, who roams the corridors in search of you. It observes your habits and remembers your favorite hiding spots. If you continuously repeat the same behavior, it will adapt and change its hunting pattern to catch you.

Look for the full version of CODE EXIT on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2027.

Publisher and developer Stormind Games, along with Soft Source Publishing, have released the official story trailer for their upcoming Neo-Giallo survival horror title, Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy. In addition, the devteams have also revealed the voice cast for this third and final instalment of the series.

Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is the culmination of the series, and we can’t wait to share this grand finale with the fans,” says Stormind Games CCO Daniele Azara. “Storytelling has always been at the heart of Remothered, and this trailer gives players, old and new, a deeper look into the mystery, the characters, and the horror behind the Red Nun.”

Along with the story trailer, Stormind has also lifted the curtain on the game’s voice cast. Revealed in a recent community video, the cast includes Cissy Jones (“The Walking Dead”, Life is Strange, BAFTA winner for Firewatch) as Susan, and Maggie Robertson (Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village) as the Red Nun herself. In the new video below, Cissy and Maggie talk about their characters and the inspirations they bring to their roles.

Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) will also provide the soundtrack for the game.

When a mysterious recording rekindles the hope that her daughter might still be alive, Susan, against all reason, decides to go to the place where everything seems to have begun: a decaying noble residence isolated on the slopes of Mount Etna and once owned by the Ashmann family.

What starts as a desperate search soon becomes a journey into terror, where family secrets, memory, and obsession intertwine. Susan finds herself drawn into a labyrinth of relentless stalkers, hidden symbols, and supernatural phenomena. As reality fractures and dark powers rise, every step brings her closer to the truth… and to a terror older than herself.

Look for Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com.

Do Not Dock

Scrawled onto the parapets that neighbour my intended port of call, like the inscription Dante saw engraved atop the gates of hell, is this ominous message.

I infer that it must have been left by some conscientious citizen who has long since departed from this accursed place. Whether in the metaphysical sense or because they just slipped aboard a passing boat. Either way, one thing’s for sure: they have departed

As I prepare to berth at the makeshift jetty before me, it becomes increasingly clear that the islet to which I am drawn hasn’t played host to a living soul for quite some time. Sure, there are plenty of people scattered around. But none of them are breathing…

Taking stock of just how many corpses line the path up from the pier and towards my destination, I have to concede that the author of that foreboding missive may well have had a point. Docking here does seem like a bad plan!

Still, I have no choice but to press on, for I must reach that abandoned church which looms menacingly up ahead. As my port draws inexorably closer, I try to think of an alternative route. A diversion that will, yes, eat up valuable seconds when I have not one left to spare, but also grant me passage through the district without having to set foot on this godforsaken inlet.

It’s not just the graffiti that’s got me on edge, you see. Everything in the vicinity seems to be screamingturn back. Additional portents corroborate the one I first saw upon approach (with these supplementary writings warning ofMurderersandLunatics, while urging me toStay Away), carrion birds orbit the church steeple, and my boat’s flywheel has begun sputtering erratically as if it is actively resisting going any further.

In spite of these ill omens and going against every self-preservation instinct in my bones, I eventually make landfall on the small island. Hitching my dinghy to the port, I then begin the short pilgrimage towards that desecrated seat of authority, which currently stands between me and a terrible destiny.

Along the way, I glimpse signs of profane influence infecting the place of worship. The floor is teeming with Slither — that damned worm-like pestilence that has all but consumed my city — while insectoid monstrosities from some blasphemous realm wait in the wings, occasionally darting from hollowed out tombs to snatch bodies or to spring an ambush.

It feels like an age before I reach the church door, but when I finally do, it comes as an indescribable relief. I’ve never been much of a religious man — having devoted much of my formative years to lying, cheating, and the pursuit of occult artefacts — but, right now, I can understand the appeal. Basking in the warm glow of the vestibule, shielded from the horrors of the outside world by beautiful stained glass, this feels like a true safe haven. It’s almost enough to make an old swindler convert!

Emphasis on the wordalmost.  While the church does provide sanctuary from the Slither and the various other abominations that have infested Arkham, it’s clear that even it has not been able to fully escape perversion. Epistolary accounts scatter the aisles, telling of how the parishioners here turned away from the Lord a long time ago, in favour of a new, pernicious faith in dark things that slumber beneath the waves. They write of antediluvian beings from the abyssal depths of the ocean, of bizarre rituals committed in their name, and of some ancient trident that can bend the very elements to its will.

As I study these clues, the voice of local broadcaster, Mushroom Jack, echoes through the building. Gibbering from the comfort of his radio station, he’s relating a tale he once heard about a man who ventured into the church undercroft only to come up against a wall of flesh that was stretched tight, and a malevolent eye that seemed to instil madness in anyone who dared meet its gaze. Guess that’s where I’m heading.

I have no idea what I’ve walked into here, or how any of these puzzle pieces fit together. But it’s my job to find out what it all means and what to do about that formless thing that’s apparently taken root in the crypt. After all, she’s depending on me.

Who Doesn’t Love a Good Underdog Story?

Please forgive that feeble attempt at mimicking the prose of H.P. Lovecraft, but there’s a reason we took that tack when introducing our preview. It seemed like the most evocative way of conveying what The Sinking City 2 is going for.

Indeed, Frogwares’ long-awaited sequel might not feature any such narration from its protagonist. But, if it did, it would sound just like an authentic excerpt from Lovecraft’s oeuvre, complete with the same grim fatalism, the same loquacious phrasing, and the same curious blend of gothic and cosmic horror. Because this is a game that has a keen understanding of what’s made the controversial author’s output, and the shared universe it inhabits, endure in the zeitgeist for well over a century.

The same was true of its underrated 2019 predecessor, to be fair. If you’re wondering why it’s taken so long for the developers to return to this material that they so obviously love, well, you can blame a protracted legal battle for that, as well as the devastating impact of the war in Ukraine. All things considered, it’s kind of a miracle that we’re getting any follow-up at all, never mind one that appears to be in such promising shape. Of course, an outpouring of support from the community (via Kickstarter) has helped to grease the proverbial wheels somewhat.

Nevertheless, credit where it’s due, Frogwares has made the best of a rough situation here and used the fallow period between The Sinking City and The Sinking City 2 to their advantage. You can tell they’ve thought ambitiously about how they can make their sequel a real quantum leap and not just an iterative upgrade.

Moving from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, it certainly looks like a game that’s benefited from seven years of technological advancements (especially when it comes to the enhanced lighting and water effects). But it’s crucially way more refined from a mechanical perspective, too.

With the best will in the world, the original game was a textbook case of Eurojank. For all of the creative ideas, intriguing world-building, and experimental design choices, it was hardly the smoothest of experiences when you actually sat down to try and play it. There were glitches abound, the combat was floaty as hell, and the whole experience could generously be described asrough around the edges.

Its successor, on the other hand, is significantly more polished. Part of that’s because the team has evidently learned lessons from their first go-around and wisely heeded audience feedback. To be blunt, though, the main reason that The Sinking City 2 feels so much tighter than its predecessor is that Frogwares has closely emulated a franchise that can seemingly do no wrong at present.

Namely, they’ve had a go at making their own AA version of Resident Evil. Hey, if you’re gonna steal, you might as well steal from the best in the business!

Enter the Survival Horror

As we learned during our hands-on preview, it doesn’t take long for you to pick up on the Resi influence here. Whereas The Sinking City was an unusual hybrid of open-world detective sim and (rather clunky) monster-shooting action, this is primarily a linear survival-horror title that has a few investigative garnishes.

You do have access to a Charlie Kelly-style conspiracy board — from which you can string together clues and draw conclusions about the case at hand — yet it’s an optional system that we barely got to utilise during our vertical slice. There are also occasional mysteries to sleuth out, but these are secondary objectives that you can choose to disregard altogether if you’re so inclined.

Superseding the detective role-playing (which has been Frogwares’ bread and butter for decades, perfected through their many Sherlock Holmes adaptations) is all that Resident Evil stuff. Specifically, modern Resident Evil.

The resemblance goes much deeper than just the over-the-shoulder perspective and the interconnected level design, and trickles down into the minutiae. For example, you’ve got: single-use keys that can unlock containers of your choosing (ala Resident Evil Requiem’s lockpicks); a crafting system that sees the same ingredients being used to produce both health items and ammunition; safe rooms that provide an analogue method of recording progress and a magical inventory box; a map that uses color-coding to indicate which rooms have been searched; and a reward-system that allocates points for the completion of challenging feats. Hell, they even lift that one scene from the Resident Evil 2 remake, wherein you have to nervously slide open refrigerated drawers in a morgue.

To reiterate, it’s not necessarily a crazy idea to copy Resident Evil’s homework, and Frogwares does a stellar job of it when you consider their working with crowdfunding resources. Still, it’s pretty incontestable that that’s what’s happening here.

New City, New Flood, New Dangers

Where The Sinking City 2 is trying to carve out an identity of its own is less on the gameplay side of things, and more so with its enthralling world-building and narrative conceit.

Framed as part of the public domainCthulhu Mythos(which studios are getting a lot of mileage out of lately), it’s set in an alternate United States, where all of Lovecraft’s demented imaginings are an accepted part of everyday American life. The existence of Shoggoths is no secret here, Deep One sightings are commonplace, and Innsmouthers are a recognised — albeit prejudiced against — societal group.

If you played the original game, you’ll already be acquainted with this high-concept premise. What you won’t be quite so familiar with, however, is the submerged municipality after which the sequel is titled. You see, this ain’t the sameSinking Citywe explored before. Last time around, we navigated the waterlogged ruins of Oakmont, Massachusetts, but now the action has been relocated to the waterlogged ruins of Arkham, Massachusetts. I mean, look on the bright side, at least the eldritch horrors have yet to cross any state lines!

The backstory for this fresh setting is that, at some point in the 1920s, Arkham was hit with two simultaneous, and possibly related, calamities. First, a devastating flood of unknown origins swept through the metropolis, drowning its streets, its public spaces, and its residences, until only those who had managed to stake out higher ground could even think about staying put.

The initial emergency response made sense on paper, with authorities erecting barricades and building floodgates, yet it did little to quell the rising tides. Before long, Arkham was twisted into a kind of neo-Venice, traversable only by boat or by bridges that were cobbled together from salvaged materials.

Things went from bad to worse when deadly vermin began to emerge from the dark waters. Known asthe Slither, this parasitic scourge (which, funnily enough, looks just like those alien slugs from the James Gunn movie of the same name) spread at an alarming rate and sought refuge in the corpses that were starting to pile up in the streets-turned-canals. It soon became apparent to the Arkhamites that these worms were capable of more than just proliferating disease as well, with them having the ability to reanimate and then puppeteer the dead as grim marionettes.

Between this Slither plague and the other unholy abominations that came with the flood, the restoration of Arkham was written off as a lost cause. An evacuation was promptly mandated, and the once-great city was left to rot. The handful of people who remained behind gradually succumbed to corruption themselves, and it’s now purely the domain of stark raving lunatics and mad occult worshipers.

And you, of course!

On that note, The Sinking City 2 isn’t just thrusting you into a brand-new setting, but also into the shoes of a brand-new protagonist. Which is somewhat inevitable, given that the previous game’s lead, Charles Reed, was left to an uncertain fate that hinged entirely upon your choices

In Reed’s stead, you’ll now be controlling raffish adventurer Calvin Rafferty. He’s basically a Nathan Drake type; only, rather than hunting for cities of gold or legendary pirate booty, he’s more interested in blasphemous artifacts like the Necronomicon and the idols of Cthulhu.

A pre-flood flashback tells us everything we need to know about Calvin. We’re introduced to him as he swaggers into a restaurant, brazenly swipes two flutes of champagne from a waiter’s tray, and then plops himself down at a table across from a young lady who’s been waiting patiently for him to swan along. Boasting to (who we soon learn is his long-term girlfriend and partner in crime), Faye, Calvin crows about how he managed to avoid getting in any trouble whilst acquiring his latest occult prize. That is just before a bunch of armed men burst into the room to prove him wrong on that count.

Anyway, as you can tell, he is a classic rogue who doesn’t take anything seriously and is motivated primarily by a thirst for thrills, fortune, and glory. Yet the stakes are raised when we subsequently flash forward to the events of the main story and find him in much gloomier circumstances.

Here, we join a very different (and more focused) Calvin, who is now on a quest to save his beloved from the forces of darkness. You see, at some point, he and Faye recklessly performed a botched ritual together that left her in a coma, and him utterly distraught. Now, he’s searching for a way to revive her by any means necessary.

Dark Academia Courtesy of Miskatonic University

With this narrative context established, we’re dropped into our first proper gameplay sequence. Relatively early in the campaign, it has us combing the Miskatonic University library (an important place in the Lovecraftian canon) in search of a forbidden tome that will outline the steps Calvin must follow to bring Faye back to the land of the living.

We hope that we’ll be able to find the relevant piece of literature, but the odds are frankly stacked against us. After all, the place is in complete disarray; with flooding having ruined many of the volumes and the shelves having been toppled over by God only knows what. Expecting that the sanctity of the Dewey Decimal system has been preserved here seems like it might be asking a bit too much. Still, we must persevere for her sake and so begin sloshing our way through the ankle-deep waters that have seeped into every nook and cranny of the building.

It’s here that we get our first taste of that Resident Evil flavouring that’s been so liberally sprinkled throughout The Sinking City 2. Because this library annex is, for all intents and purposes, a miniaturised Raccoon City Police Department, complete with locked doors, interconnected shortcuts, and areas that are gated off by lite puzzles.

For an idea of the kind of thing you can expect, there’s one part where we have to reorganise bookcases using a series of cranks, so that we can create an uninterrupted path through the upper level of the building. Not only does this open up new rooms that have yet to be explored, but it also gives us a convenient way to loop around to the central staircase.

Said shortcut then comes in quite handy when we later need to backtrack down to the ground floor, having acquired a chemical agent that can be used to dissolve the lock on a crate we passed by earlier. It’s all very tightly structured like that.

While not as intricate as one of the larger-scale environments you might find in Resi, the library is still a nifty bit of level design. Negotiating these kinds of areas is always satisfying for fans of the survival horror genre, as you get to figure out how neatly everything fits together and pick the space clean of its valuable contents (the endorphin rush of watching the map turn that pleasing blue hue when you’re done never diminishes).

Speaking of the library’s contents, we do eventually find that arcane book we’ve been on the hunt for. Alas, it turns out that its pages are filled with indecipherable glyphs that we have no way of interpreting.

Yet, just when it seems like we’ve hit a dead end, we bump into a scholar who offers welcome assistance. He’s a bit of an eccentric, mind you, having gouged out his own fucking eyes and inserted Slither worms into the empty sockets. We’d roundly condemn his actions, by the way, were it not for the fact that these new oculars are what enable him to read the eldritch text in our possession. And we desperately need to know what it says.

Before he performs any such translation services, though, he wants us to bring him something first and dispatches us to the Devil’s Reef Hotel, where theguest of honorapparently awaits collection. Whatever the hell that means!

Look, we’ve got to do what the guy asks. He’s the only one who can give us the answers we seek.

The Lovecraftian Game is Afoot

That’s pretty much where you came in, as we then proceed to head over to that weird church with the sea god zealots and the wall of flesh stretched thin in its basement. To clarify, we’re not just here to see the sights. Rather, it’s a necessary pit-stop on our journey, because a sluice is blocking passage to the Devil’s Reef Hotel, and the parishioners of this church are the ones who used to control it. You know, back when they were alive.

Unfortunately, raising the gate isn’t going to be as easy as just hitting a big red button. The operating mechanism has been chained up with a combination lock, and we’ve got to work out the code if we want to get out of Dodge.

Which brings us to The Sinking City 2’s detective gameplay. The original title was quite involved when it came to these mechanics, with cases that unfolded across a sprawling open world. Among other things, you needed to question NPCs, reconstruct the events of crime scenes in chronological order, and visit the city hall to cross-reference archival data.

By comparison, investigations in the linear sequel are significantly pared back or, dare we say it, dumbed down. Relevant clues are localised to the immediate vicinity of the puzzle (in this case, the church and its grounds) and most of them appear to take the form of written notes. You can lump findings together in a mind palace to better organise your thoughts. Yet, other than that, it’s a surprisingly straightforward approach for a developer who built their entire brand on Sherlock Holmes mysteries.

Cracking the gate conundrum doesn’t take much lateral thinking, anyway. Although it is admittedly possible that the riddles will get more sophisticated as the game goes on. You never know, maybe the developers just wanted to show us a quick and easy one for the purposes of our demo slice.

Reassuringly, there is a more complex puzzle that you can choose to solve in the church if you want to 100% everything. We won’t spoil the specifics, but it involves a starfish key, a stone trident, a rotating monolith, a codex of symbols, and a ceremonial dagger.

To reiterate, you don’t have to tackle this extra challenge. However, doing so will unlock additional context that’s well worth seeing. In fact, based on our limited experience so far, we’d recommend engaging with The Sinking City 2’s optional brainteasers whenever you can. They grant access to cool secret areas like this, can uncover fascinating lore, will bring you face-to-face with new horrors (remember that eyeball in the crypt?), and might even yield tangible gameplay rewards.

FillEm With Lead and Upgraded Combat

Another incentive for solving all of the puzzles is that — again, like in some modern Resident Evil titles — you might happen upon an attachment for your favourite weapon. When we opened that aforementioned crate in the library, for example, we were rewarded with a compensator that could be affixed to our handgun to reduce its recoil and improve its accuracy.

Yet apart from a few Slither-possessed corpses and a handful of spindly insectoids (picture a cross between Xenomorph facehuggers and the demodogs from “Stranger Things”), there wasn’t actually a whole lot for us to shoot at in the first chunk of our preview. To get a better sense of the combat, we had to skip ahead to a more action-packed chapter.

Taking place much further along in the story, and further along into the ritual to save Faye, this portion trapped us in a deserted hospital where all manner of strange procedures were being performed on the patients. It’s a bigger environment than either the library or the church, roughly comparable in size to Brookhaven from Silent Hill 2. There’s a tantalising number of locked doors and a gnarly puzzle that requires us to use surgically removed faces in order to bypass anachronistic biometric technology.

We only get to skim the surface of that stuff, however, as our exploration is cut short after about 30 minutes. That’s okay, though, because this part of the demo is really just an excuse to test out The Sinking City 2’s new and (vastly) improved combat.

As we said before, the original game was bursting with charm and creativity, but it didn’t nail everything that it set out to achieve. Enemy encounters, in particular, were awkward, stilted, unresponsive, and frustrating. They were something you tolerated, so that you get to the next stretch of detective work (like eating your vegetables prior to dessert).

The upgrade that has occurred in the sequel is undeniable, and combat is now a legitimately enjoyable proposition. Creatures no longer soak up damage without visibly registering the impact of a shot, and will react appropriately depending on where you’ve hit them. Meanwhile, each weapon has a weighty kick to it, whether it’s the forceful blast of the shotgun or the jerky rat-a-tat-tat-tat of a Tommy gun.

It all just feels way more gratifying. At one point, there’s a scripted set-piece wherein waves of Slither-zombies start swarming in through the doors and smashing down windows, before eventually tackling us over a ledge amidst showers of falling debris, and it’s a thousand times more cinematic than anything we got in the original game.

It’s not just a question of presentation, though. There’s a far greater emphasis on battle tactics as well. On that note, Calvin plays very similarly to Leon Kennedy (that’s rookie RE2 Leon, not the roundhouse-kicking super-agent of RE4 and Requiem), which means you’ve got to think strategically about where you position yourself in the room and what the most economical way of bringing down a given threat is. Maybe you’ll take opportunistic potshots at a distance to whittle down the enemy hordes, or perhaps you’ll try to lure them all into a corridor to blast them all away with a well-judged shotgun blast.

You’ll need to adapt for each opponent too, as they all have their own idiosyncratic movement styles, different behavioural patterns, and unique attacks. Those little facehugger things, for instance, will skuttle underneath furniture and into hidden crevices to make you waste precious bullets, while spitter-type mutants will bombard you from afar with projectile acid. Even the garden-variety zombies have a little twist here, courtesy of their pulsating weak spots that shift around from limb to limb whenever you try to get a bead on them.

In short, the combat is a dramatic improvement over what came before. Our only reservation, at this moment in time, is that this slickness might have come at a cost of Frogwares’ signature detective mechanics, which seemed a tad underutilised in our brief time with the game.

Granted, there’s only so much you can glean from a 90-minute demo, but we just hope that there will be more meaty puzzles and investigations to balance out the gunfights. After all, that’s what gave the first one its personality.

Nevertheless, this remains an encouraging first impression of The Sinking City 2, and we can’t wait to wade into the murky waterways of Arkham when it releases in the Summer. After everything these developers have been through, we’re rooting for them to pull it off.

The Sinking City 2 is currently in development for release later this summer on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

With Mortal Kombat II having a strong showing at the box office over the past weekend (raking in $63 million globally), NetherRealm and WB Games are taking advantage of the Simon McQuoid-directed sequel with a set of movie-inspired character skins for Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition. The skins for Johnny Cage, Kitana, Scorpion, and Shao Kahn are featured in a new trailer to coincide with the announcement.

Additionally, customers who have purchased an eligible Mortal Kombat II movie ticket will receive a promotional code to obtain 750 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency) for use in Mortal Kombat 1 game. For more information, head on over to the code redemption website.

This all comes after series co-creator Ed Boon hinted in an interview with Collider that NetherRealm was in the process of developing another Mortal Kombat game, though he didn’t offer much more than that. One would hope that NetherRealm take their time with this next entry and address fan criticisms, given that Mortal Kombat 1 sold just half of what Mortal Kombat 11 sold (8 million versus 15 million).

Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition is available now digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Mortal Kombat II (read Meagan’s review here) is out now in theatres.

Despite being a year off, the rumours, as they say, were true. Developer Cold Iron Studios has teamed with Daybreak Game Company to announced the follow-up to 2021’s Aliens: Fireteam Elite with Fireteam Elite 2. The cooperative third-person shooter will launch this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Once again, up to four players suit up as members of the Colonial Marines. This is not a rescue mission—it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. You must coordinate with your fireteam, utilizing each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war.

Fireteam Elite 2 will feature deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a “fully customizable Specialist class” that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class into one Marine. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.

The game will also launch with multiple dedicated Horde maps that will push squads to their limits. Teams will battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as they survive deeper into the onslaught.

You can grab the original Aliens: Fireteam Elite on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. And check out our review of Fireteam Elite while you wait.

Capcom has finally pulled the trigger on the minigame for Resident Evil Requiem, unveiling the action-packed LEON MUST DIE FOREVER”, available now for free across the Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and Epic Games StorePlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.

Unlocked after players complete the main story, the “LEON MUST DIE FOREVER” Mode comes packed with more non-stop combat action featuring Leon S. Kennedy. Players will race against the clock as they fight their way through areas they’ve visited previously throughout the game and defeat the final boss, all with stronger enemy variants and five increasingly difficulty ranks. Your goal is to fill your enhancement gauge by defeating enemies in order to unlock Leon’s “enhancer abilities” exclusive to this game mode.

To add to the replayability for the mode, the order and progression of each area, plus options for Leon’s “enhancer abilities,” differ among each run.

Alongside the release of “LEON MUST DIE FOREVER” the update features various bug fixes for Resident Evil Requiem, as well as adding PC support for the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensor features.

That’s not all, as Capcom has also made available new “LEON MUST DIE FOREVER” merch, including t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, sweatshirt, and hoodies available now from Amazon Japan. And for Nintendo fans, the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo figures will release on July 30.

Ahead of its release later this summer, Frogwares has released an extensive gameplay trailer for The Sinking City 2. Exploration, combat, and eldritch monstrosities take center stage in the flooded city of Arkham, while the trailer also offers up first glimpses of the game’s Lovecraftian horror story.

With The Sinking City 2, Frogwares is fully embracing its original vision to steer the studio toward a “horror-first” approach, designing gameplay that emphasizes combat, exploration, and the rich Lovecraftian setting.

“Our idea to take a chance with The Sinking City 2 and create something more in the survival horror genre has really come together,” says Game Director Alexander Gresko. “The leaps and progress we’ve made are clear to all of us on the team, and now we’re eager to see how it resonates with players, both new and our existing fans.

While the genre shift has allowed us to really grow creatively, we’re holding onto the investigative roots we’re known for. We’ve prioritized combat, survival, and exploration, with investigation as a beneficial layer for those who want that aspect of the game.”

Set in a Lovecraftian vision of 1920s Arkham, a supernatural flood has driven out all but the most deranged residents, leaving decay and eldritch horrors roaming the streets. You are Calvin Rafferty, an occult adventurer whose supercilious actions have led to devastating consequences.

After a dreaming ritual goes wrong, Calvin’s girlfriend, Faye, is left trapped in a mysterious sleep. Now Calvin must navigate the drowned streets of a Arkham in a desperate attempt to bring her back.

Dionous Games and X INTERACTIVE had a quick turnaround from the recent Steam Next Fest with their horror adventure title Inner Voice. After debuting the demo during the event,  the game is out now on Steam (with a limited-time 20% launch discount), GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Releases on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series are also planned.

Focusing on narrative discovery rather than combat, the game blends exploration, story-driven puzzles, and immersive audiovisual design. Inner Voice has players taking on the role of Booker, a man haunted by the loss of his wife, Diana, and drawn into a place abandoned by time and reason. With no weapons, no allies, and no clear answers, Booker must navigate decaying spaces, follow the echo of a mysterious voice, and piece together the truth buried within this fractured world.

Players move through large, detailed environments that combine discovery with linear story progression. You must inspect spaces to uncover environmental clues, memories, and hidden narrative threads. Puzzles are woven directly into the world and narrative, serving as gateways to the game’s lore. Solving them reveals fragments of Booker’s past, the nature of the world around him, and the meaning behind the choices players make along the way.

Depending on your actions through the game’s four chapters, you’ll arrive at one of three story endings, with one secret ending.

Remedy Entertainment made an appearance at gamescom Latin America, with Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen unveiling a brand-new developer diary along with new details for the upcoming Control Resonant. The new developer diary video reveals more of the game’s twisted version of Manhattan, as well as provides a behind-the-scenes look at the development team’s work in creating a world outside of the confines of the Oldest House.

“What the Oldest House is to a boring office building, the Manhattan of Control Resonant is to a regular city,” says Elmeri Raitanen, Resonant‘s Art Director. “For years, the players, developers and Dylan alike have been staring at the brutalist concrete walls of the Oldest House – it’s time to get some fresh air.”

Kasurinen added that the world of Control Resonant is filled with paranatural action “that takes place in an expansive, reality-warping playground of choice, power, and consequence.”

In Control Resonant, players take on the role of Dylan Faden, who will explore multiple areas of Manhattan in an expansive, unfamiliar world as an invading cosmic force reshapes the environment, defiles natural law and distorts gravity, reordering reality into a geophysical nightmare. Players will traverse perception-bending locations and journey beyond the material world into a mysterious metaphysical space reflecting Faden’s troubled psyche. Players will tap into power that Dylan must learn to master and make choices to shape abilities that manifest and grow while exploring a deep progression system. Face ever-changing threats head-on, utilizing the environment, unleashing elemental abilities and wielding the raw force Dylan’s shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant.

Control Resonant is scheduled to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. And if you want more info on the game, don’t forget to check out Aaron’s preview.

If you already have the Switch version of Blood: Refreshed Supply, you can purchase the upgrade pack to allow you to play it on the Switch 2.

If for whatever reason you’ve never jumped into BloodBlood: Refreshed Supply is Nightdive Studios’ remaster of the 2019 original Blood: Fresh Supply. This new remaster features additional technical enhancements for modern platforms, including up to 4K resolution at unlocked frame rates, local split-screen and online co-op for up to 8 players, a Vault with behind-the-scenes content from the development of Blood, and more. As well as including the original Blood campaign and the Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage add-ons, Blood: Refreshed Supply features two new mission scenarios: Marrow and the recently-released Death Wish.

Death Wish — with four episodes, totalling 48 levels — begins years in the future after the events of Blood expansions Cryptic Passage, Post Mortem, and Marrow, where the specter of Tchernobog still looms after his defeat, having regained strength as protagonist Caleb fought other battles. When his growing power can no longer be veiled, Tchernobog’s forces face off against his foe as the moment of the Dreaming God’s ascension draws near. All maps have been upgraded from their previous mod versions, while the entirety of episode 4 and other levels are entirely new. All maps are co-op compatible and feature custom music from Noelle Amelie Aman (Speedy) and Sjellos (Silentsphere Studios).

Capcom is setting the stage for the impending arrival of the previously-announced minigame for Resident Evil Requiem. In a new interview with Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa, the duo shared a few details on the upcoming update, while still keeping things vague to keep the speculation going.

Per Denfaminico Gamer, Nakanishi stated that the upcoming minigame will only be playable if the main story is completed. Kumazawa added that players try to beat the game during Japan’s Golden Week holiday, which takes place from April 29 – May 6, so that they’ll be set for the minigame’s release.

The duo also confirmed that the minigame is a single-player affair, and that it’s inspired by the battles in the main game. Nakanishi added that players should “sharpen [their] tomahawks and stay tuned.” As for the anticipated story DLC, all Nakanishi could say was that it was “currently in full production.”

The interview also touched on the topic of Leon’s ring, which wasn’t explicitly shown in the game, but didn’t go unnoticed by fans. When asked about this, particularly after the topic was brought up in a past interview with Nakanishi (where he gave a vague answer), the director remained coy.

According to Nakanishi (per the translation by Google), the ring is meant to represent the changes in Leon as he ages. As for the identity of Leon’s partner, Nakanishi said that more would be revealed “someday.” However, Nakanishi also said that day “isn’t now.”

Resident Evil Requiem is available now for the Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and Epic Games StorePlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.

If you thought IllFonic was too busy with developing Halloween: The Video Game to give some love to Predator: Hunting Grounds, guess again. The developer has released brand new DLC for Hunting Grounds that adds the Father Predator to the asymmetrical multiplayer title, as well as the new Yautja Sword.

Per the DLC description, the Father Predator is an Elder Yautja clan leader who lives by a single, unwavering truth: strict adherence to the Yautja Codex. He credits these ancient teachings for his unprecedented survival, earning him the reputation of the greatest hunter in his clan’s long history. To him, the Code is absolute; he is infamous for purging his own ranks, ruthlessly culling any member who exhibits even the slightest hint of frailty. His vast experience has made him an unparalleled master of Yautja technology. He is a ferocious and calculating predator, a living monument to the lethal perfection demanded by the Yautja Codex.

Meanwhile, the Yautja Sword is described as being engineered for absolute lethality. The blade features an edge capable of heating plasma that can sear through prey with ease. For hunters who have mastered its use, the Yautja Sword brings both adaptability and decisive killing power, and it remains a primary choice for those looking to claim trophies on Yautja Prime and across the galaxy.

You can grab this new DLC today for Predator: Hunting Grounds on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Meanwhile, Halloween: The Video Game will launch September 8 on PlayStation 5Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Right on time, Trigger Happy Interactive’s Total Chaos is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 via the Nintendo eShop. As mentioned before, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Total Chaos runs at up to 1080P in docked mode and 720P in handheld mode, with a selectable Performance mode targeting 60FPS (unlocked). The default Quality mode is set to 30FPS.

Additionally, the game supports Joy-Con 2 mouse and gyro controls, and launches with the latest game content introduced with the New Game+ update, which includes an alternate ending, a new stalker enemy type (The Hunter), and more.

As Luiz alluded to in his review of the PC version, Total Chaos is a downright brutal, atmospheric nightmare that blends hallmarks of different eras of survival horror. Originally a total conversion mod of DOOM II, this now standalone game pulls players into the abyss of Fort Oasis, a desolate wasteland once considered paradise by its coal-mining community.

A shadow looms over the island, evoking a sense of madness that can only be described as the feeling of being constantly watched. Monstrosities lurk around every corner of the island’s heart, trapping anybody daring enough to enter the void. While shooting and bludgeoning through these twisted foes, players will unearth fragments of forgotten lives to piece together the chilling mystery of Fort Oasis’ demise (and their connection to it) before their sanity runs dry.

Torn Banner Studios has announced a free weekend of play for its 8-player co-op PvE survival horror title No More Room in Hell 2, which is still in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Running April 30 through May 4, you can also snag the Early Access build with a 35% discount for the duration of the event.

That’s not all, as in addition to the free weekend, Torn Banner has announced that it is partnering with Green Man Gaming to bring No More Room in Hell 2 to the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series this summer, arriving in tandem with the 1.0 PC release. There will also be cross-play available across all platforms.

“It’s been a year since No More Room In Hell 2’s first Free Weekend, and we’ve worked tirelessly to broaden the gates of the apocalypse without sacrificing the grit that defines the franchise,” says Steve Piggott, CEO & Creative Director at Torn Banner Studios. “Whether you’re a returning survivor or a fresh recruit, we can’t wait for fans to face the horde again, from the tactical intensity of our brand-new Survival Mode to all-new weapons, zombies, maps and beyond.”

The Free Weekend will offer players a look at the first map in the new Survival Mode. The new mode has players fending off swarming hordes to buy time for civilian rescues – where every tactical choice is the difference between life and permadeath. This joins the core Scenario Mode, where Responders venture deep into the outbreak to scavenge gear, tackle critical objectives, and extract vital supplies.

Torn Banner has also introduced Character Customisation, allowing players to modify their Responder’s appearance and features before exploring two all-new maps. Melee weapons have been reworked for damage, stability impact, speed, and reach, alongside an overall weapon tier upgrade. To heighten the tension, zombies no longer lock onto individuals, but instead prioritise sound detection for a more demanding tactical experience.

Capcom continues to enjoy the success from Resident Evil Requiem. In fact, two months after the title cracked the 5 million mark in sales since its February launch, Capcom has revealed that Requiem has now surpassed 7 million units sold across PC and consoles. As such, they threw a little party for the team.

Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi revealed the news (and the event) on his Instagram stories, which included Leon and Grace-themed cakes, as well as an appearance by The Game Awards mastermind Geoff Keighley, who also participated in an “after-party bingo” session.

Predictably, Keighley’s appearance has sparked rumblings that we could could see that in-development story expansion DLC revealed later this summer during the Summer Game Fest, which takes place from June 5 to June 8 this year.

Back in March, Nakanishi stated that the Requiem expansion “will take some time” in terms of its development, but that it would “delve deeper into the world of Requiem.

The fact that Resident Evil Requiem has continued its torrent pace in sales—adding an additional two million units in two months—puts it alone atop the franchise as the quickest to reach this milestone. According to Alex Aniel, author of “Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil,” the next-closest title in the series to reach 7 million this fast would be 2023’s Resident Evil 4 remake. And even that took just over a year to hit that mark.

What’s even crazier is that Capcom announced that they’ve had to revise their earnings forecast for the year.

“In our core Digital Contents business, in addition to Resident Evil Requiem (the latest title in the Resident Evil series that was released in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026) being met with broad acclaim globally, sales grew for catalog titles from major series due to their steady popularity. Additionally, Arcade Operations, Amusement Equipments, and Other Businesses all performed favorably.

As a result, we expect net sales, operating profit, ordinary profit, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent to all outperform our previously announced forecast.”

Resident Evil Requiem is available now for the Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and Epic Games StorePlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.

Exactly one year after the release of BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH, Serafini Productions has announced another entry in its BrokenLore series with BrokenLore: DON’T PLAY. Coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, DON’T WATCH sees the return of characters from previous entries in the psychological horror anthology.

BrokenLore: DON’T PLAY is a first-person psychological horror game that follows Hideo, a young hikikomori obsessed with video games and the need for recognition. When he receives a mysterious experimental console in the mail, he decides to play it, convinced it could change his life.

But each level brings increasingly unsettling consequences into the real world. His apartment begins to shift, time starts to distort, and something dark slowly emerges as the line between what he plays and what he lives begins to break down.

Across five levels of the mysterious experimental game, each with its own rules, mechanics, and hidden dangers, Hideo is drawn deeper into his obsession. He must survive the consequences in the real world as his apartment slowly transforms after every session.

BrokenLore: DON’T PLAY is part of the BrokenLore saga, a psychological horror anthology where each game is a standalone entry, yet each hides fragments of a deeper truth. Through secrets, environments, and hidden details, every chapter reveals pieces of an unseen narrative, slowly forming the larger mystery known as Elysium.

The BrokenLore saga already includes three released titles available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox: UNFOLLOW, DON’T WATCH and LOW. The next installment, BrokenLore: FOLLOW, is set to be released on June 1st.

Since it’s Alien Day, what better day for Creative Assembly to start the ball rolling for the sequel to Alien: Isolation? The developer had announced two years ago that they were in early development of the follow-up to the 2014 hit, and now they’ve got something to show to the fans.

On the official Alien: Isolation X account and posted to YouTube, the devs posted a teaser entitled “False Sense of Security” that shows doors opening to a colony reminiscent of LV-426, complete with rain. It’s only about 5 seconds before it snaps to black, the Creative Assembly logo appears, and ends on a shot of an “EMERGENCY” sign.

Obviously, not a whole lot to go off of in the 25 second clip, but it’s safe to assume that this is teasing the Alien: Isolation sequel.

Back when they first announced work on the Alien: Isolation sequel, Creative Assembly Creative Director Al Hope stated that the team was overwhelmed with fan enthusiasm for the game. “It’s been nothing short of incredible to witness [the fans’] passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world. It was a dream project brought to life by a brilliant team, and the reception you have given it over the years is extraordinary.”

And if for whatever reason you haven’t played Alien: Isolation, you can grab it today, along with many other Alien titles, with a generous discount on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
